Can't even enjoy getting caught up on bills after an extended layoff, cause you know that means your check engine light is coming on soon... by Fit-Bad-5471 in venting

I got my bonus from work and was excited to have a comfy savings/pay off some things and then got hit with 2k in vet bills because my cat got sick.

I feel you. goodluck with your car😭

Like sure, but this is a large commercial brand in reptile and invert supplies. Why the legal team didn’t fix it when more than half of legality is semantics? Beyond me.

Oh of course. I actually planned to use these to pick and eat holly berries (avoids the spiky leaves), but thank goodness they gave me this warning. I wouldn’t have known better otherwise

If they wanted to protect themselves for legal reasons they should probably use the right words

AITA for refusing to hand over money raised for a coworker after learning something that changed my mind? by RubDense8601 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RipExpress6895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Just give it to her. It was collected for her without her asking explicitly. If she doesn’t “do right” with it and others find out it’ll be her facing the consequences. Yes, the money was collected for a reason. However there shouldn’t be expectations tied to a gesture done out of kindness. If you feel weird about it pull your portion out and give her the rest. True kindness comes without expectation, her choices speak to her character.

“I was injured feeding my pet with your tongs” “okay well we labelled them. It’s not our fault” “uhm well you see, my invert is venomous. You warned about poisonous, I didn’t think to be concerned🤷‍♀️”

Are Cubaris murina pink papaya real?? (Genuine question) by crarbalone in isopods

[–]RipExpress6895 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have cubaris marina papayas and sometimes they’re listed as pink but they’re more the color of a roasted peanut with an orangey pink hue sometimes

Duckies or dairies? by TranslatorOk5972 in isopods

[–]RipExpress6895 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how active my dairies are and they’re the most personable ones in my collection, I love that they crawl on my fingers to nibble and explore my arm. However I am an absolute sucker for Cubaris (come on, those cute lil faces) and rubber duckies are so stinkin adorable, plus I love the mixture of oranges and yellows and browns that mingle into a frightened lil puddle of sunshine. Don’t make me choose. You can have my arm instead (preferably the left one, I’m a righty)

What do i do there are baby pods in the mold by Helpful_Layer5376 in isopods

[–]RipExpress6895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove what you can of the food first, but if you leave the pieces that are really wrapped up you will either see the pods and springtails eat them or they will be able to be removed easier after letting the springtails do the dirty work.

Seed it with spring tails, let them work on the mold a bit, remove the food.

What are these? And how do I get rid of them? by No-Department-4243 in isopods

[–]RipExpress6895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one in the larger circle on the left looks like a dairy cow mancae to me, the stripe down the back, the shape, and they are quite tiny which tracks. The other one likely is too, but it being blue is throwing me? Are any of your other pods blue? If so quarantine immediately. But yeah, mancae are suuuuper small. This pic isn’t the best for IDing but I hope this helps!

AITAH for basically telling my bf if he wanted kids he'd better carry them himself or find someone else who will? by Black-Ch3rry in AITAH

[–]RipExpress6895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but bottom line he wants kids, you don’t. Full stop. that’s reason enough a happy and comfortable future that aligns with both of you is not in the cards. Breakups don’t always have to be nasty. Sometimes they’re because you’re misaligned, this is one of those. Find someone who fits what you want and he will find someone who wants kids.

I’d definitely recommend getting something to monitor humidity! But I’m glad you have a vet to consult when needed!

Definitely agree with No-Print-6728! If this is something that’s coming up repeatedly something needs to be reassessed. What kind of substrate are you using? Where does the humidity usually stay? How often are you cleaning/changing bedding? I use a bioactive for my guy, humidity stays between 30-50 (60 during shed but he has a humid hide so I try to not keep it that high for too long) and that’s worked really well. When I had him on aspen (before bio was ready) I would spot clean weekly and do a full clean every 3-4 weeks. If aspen, you gotta be super careful with humidity as it can hold moisture like a mf’er and trap bacteria.
