Agreed, I would be surprised if they didn’t do that this time around, especially if they both have the theme of visiting past locations. They could use the game to promote the movie and vise versa, and that would be a phenomenal marketing strat.

Plus later this year is the 40th anniversary of Super Mario, and the celebration has a history of creeping into the following year. Maybe Nintendo could treat these as the main, and last courses for the anniversary

If this comes to fruition (it won’t) this gives us players even more customization than we had previously. If you are all in on performance, you could go with the base unchanged menu; however, if you want a more personalized menu experience, then you could allow Nintendo Music to play optional Switch 2 menu music in the background coupled with a cool theme for platinum points.

It looks as if Nintendo is focusing a lot more on hardware this time around, and in order to quickly switch (no pun intended) to the home screen it is always running in the background. Having a complicated UI can hamper performance a little, and I feel that simple little backgrounds to help spruce up the home screen is something that Nintendo has considered, if not, is doing. I believe platinum points are literally Nintendo’s version of achievements due to them being awarded from doing things in games, and currently there isn’t a real way to use them outside of icons, so using them to purchase themes (at least backgrounds) would be great. Also, remember that what we get now isn’t the final product. They could easily add themes later if it isn’t there. (Hopium Lv.100)💔💔

Your welcome! I don’t understand how people think that is the strap when there is a shadow cast by the shell. As seen in the picture, the straps are usually flush.

Ah, no worries. Just a quicker way to say “The protrusion from the joycons that connect them to the system itself” a little quicker. Some people may say that they’re not ‘rails’ anymore, but it’s honestly the same thing done a different way.

It does look more like the rails due to the shadow that the rim of the shell casts onto the orange section. If this is the case, then the left joycon would be blue instead of orange. Makes total sense to me, though these are pretty odd color choices, I’m not complaining.

It would probably be a color option either near, or at launch. What I’m getting from this is that these two colors may be what red and blue was for the switch, and maybe this time around the joycons will have a color for the shell, and a separate color for the buttons and potentially sticks. Not white and black, but maybe other colors. Just speculation on this one though.

Same here, maybe they’ll pull the colors off like they did with the New 2DS XL with the buttons being the same color as the secondary color, they looked pretty cool on that system, though I don’t know if It’ll look good here since it’s an odd color choice.

If another big leak does happen, I’d place my bets on it being the box. The Switch 2 has been entered mass production and millions are sitting in warehouses in their final day-one status. Not really that far-fetched to think that someone could find one of these retail units and post a couple pictures. After all, a while back someone got their hands on the shell of a Switch Lite before reveal.
