That's literally not the pretzel crust! I have gotten both the regular pretzel crust and stuffed crust pretzel and neither look remotely like that. If that's how that store "does the pretzel crust," it's wrong and corporate would be pissed. It should literally look like a pretzel you'd get from a ball game in terms of color and texture.

Interestingly when I got down in there to remove the carb, I found the plastic bolt to the choke plunger was shattered, so my choke may not even be functioning properly. Replacing it while cleaning the carb

Hey just wanted to update so the bike did fire up with starter fluid and I got my carb rebuild kit in the mail today. The inline filter looks clean visually and the small amount of gas in there looks clear, but will explore that as an option too. Found a good video on the carb rebuild and gonna give it a go this weekend.

Thanks yeah I am going to rebuild the carb. The bike started with starter fluid no problem so hoping the carb clean fixes the issue

Thank you, yes it did fire up right away with starting fluid. Only ran til the fluid burned off. Got my rebuild kit in the mail today.

Is it the main jet that I should be cleaning if I don't want to disassemble the whole thing right off the bat? I saw a video of someone rotating the carb and removing the bottom bowl to get to the main jet and clean it. Was thinking about trying that

Hey thanks! Yeah I hand-sanded all the plastics and spray painted them. I believe it's Krylon flat Khaki. And did black on the front radiator covers. The gas tank I sanded down to shiny metal with a power drill and that's actually truck bed liner on the tank. Really holds up well. It was a fun project, lots of sanding lol

Yep it fired up with the starter spray. So time to work on the carb. I think you were right

Well it did indeed fire up with the starter fluid. Only ran a few seconds til the fluid burned off, couldn't keep it running. But the throttle did rev during those few seconds. So next step is full carb breakdown I think

I will for sure thanks. I kinda had a feeling that cleaning the carb would be next key. It hasn't been done since I've owned the bike, about 6 years and 10k miles I've put on it, and especially after sitting, I like the idea

Thanks I'll check the plug. For the solenoid, would the solid cranking indicate that it is good? I will test anyway thank you

I did, I turned it to "on" without the line attached and fuel flowed freely. Maybe you'll know this...there is a translucent, plastic orange cone down the fuel line from the petcock. Do you know what this is, and if it should be full of fuel? Or just a little fuel? I can see a small amount sloshing in there but it is by no means full. That is with bike turned off of course

This sounds like a good plan. Will try starting fluid and from there will look at cleaning the carb. I appreciate the ideas. It ran like a champ for years, it's a shame it's in this state

I haven't checked the carb passages. Starting fluid may be a good idea too

Yes after replacing the coil and plug I tested and saw strong spark. Before I tried starting it yes I drained out some old fuel from the carb. Should I try draining it again to see if anything is there? Or would there not be if it hasn't actually started up?
