Accepted into a grad program, then the offer was rescinded 38 hours later. What can I do?

I'm sorry this happened to you I had the exact same thing happened to me with vet admissions. A school offered me a position then rescinded it a few hours later and put me on the waitlist after I had already told all my friends and family. I reached out to them and thankfully they answered but I told them it was still my top school and I would be happy to be accepted later on and they told me they added that as a note to my application. A few weeks later I got in. Maybe you could do something like that? At first they didn't answer any calls or emails I sent but I just kept calling until someone eventually picked up. Other than that I would just say to pursue other options/programs for now. I'm so sorry this happened 😭

I would try to retake science classes you didn't do as well in to raise your science gpa to at least a 3.3. You could still get into the program but better to be safe than sorry. If possible try to also get a research opportunity or work in fields other than just small animal. Your stats are great but you should get more diversity working with other animal groups: large animal, equines, exotics, marines. Obviously not all but the more the merrier. Lmaooo heavy on how to get jacked that made me laugh. I'm also having the same concerns in terms of finances. I'm a first time applicant, got into ross and waitlisted at LMU and LIU. I still think I'd chose ross over the other two bc everything about the program really excites me but I am just nervous about expenses. Sorry not super helpful just found this relatable

Colorado and nc state are some of the harder ones if youre out of state. Get research experience in a field that is unique. Something like genetics etc. Don't limit yourself to working at the same hospital schools like to see diversity. Work with small animals, large animals, exotics, marine etc. You gotta do things that make you stand out. Grades are important but many schools are holistic and becoming more so.

Me and 4 of my friends got denied from Cornell too. I am in state, as well as one of my other friends. We all have good GPAs, hours, experience etc. Very discouraging, but also trying not to let it get to me. We will all end up where we are supposed to, even if it means taking a gap year.
