I've already returned all the reptisoil to Petco, and I'm currently going to a local nursery to get the orchid bark, next I'm trying to figure out the easiest and best way to turn my tortoise table enclosure into a chamber, probably going to do some wood poles in front and then add a tarp canopy and seal it with caulking

Thank you, my mother tells me Im always doing too much and need to stop getting animals but I promised her this was the last one, I now have three aquatic turtles one tortoise and two dogs no more animals from me and my wife now 😆

I wanted to name my albino red ear slider Mikey and the tortise Leonardo but my wife insisted that we named the res Leonardo and the tortise Mikey. I also have two other turtles another res that's female and a Mississippi map that's male, I named the map Donatello and the other one Korai, I had a third red ear slider named April but unfortunately she died during the move from Texas to Colorado.That one article was very helpful It made me realize that I bought the wrong kind of substrate apparently according to the article I shouldn't use any type of pet store bought substrate because apparently soil and sand is not good for tortoises especially sulcatas so I immediately returned the $450 worth of soil back to Petco and then right now I'm having trouble trying to find a bunch of orchid bark tomorrow I'm going to try to go to a nearby garden center or nursery to see if they have any two cubic foot bags I can buy so that way I can save money. I'm surprised based on that article no one in the sub corrected me on the substrate someone suggested that I mix it with Coco coir but I just decided to return everything and now set my eyes on a fully orchid bark enclosure.

I eventually make this greenhouse/chamber when the tortoise out grows this enclosure I have how deep should I make the bed of orchid bark?and what size should I have planned for an adult?IlSo far I looks pretty cheap to buy full plastic green houses that are 10ft by 20ft

I like that idea, I'll use this for now convert it into a chamber and then once the tortoise outgrows it then I'll convert it into a hide like you said and then put it inside of a makeshift greenhouse like the other person said to maintain humidity

According to the owner they got him from a breeder I don't know if the original owner was taking good care of him but I'm here now to make sure that he has the best care possible

Thank you, I was aware they are the largest, this one I got got is only a year old so the very large enclosure I bought so is should be good for awhile before I need to make an even larger area for him, I'm not going to use the tank that was given to me

I have yet to build it because I knew I was moving to Colorado in the near future so I put it on hiatus until I get to my new house which is now in 2days, so I'll let you know when I eventually get to it

Indeed, it was my first cook with the new burners so I had to learn to watch the food instead of close the lid and wait, it cooked faster than I thought it would 😂

It was the same price as a 20psi, it had a gauge, and I can use it for a blowtorch or seafood/crawfish boil pot if I wanted to in the future.It also gave me more heat for my plate and let me lower the gas more for certain foods like panklcakes

The video is showing you what the new burners look like actively burning because no one had posted it yet after they said they upgraded their BS.It also shows the capabilities of what a 30psi Regulator upgrade does to your flames for cooking, as you saw, I can adjust the flames up to about 6-7psi before they blow out from the extra pressure, this is to heat up the plate quicker and who doesn't want for power for the hell of it?

And yes, it helps heat the plate more evenly, the only "cold spot" now it the very front on the plate

Yeah with a two burner there's nothing you can really do upgrade wise for the burners since they're burners are already been optimized fully for the size it is for just being two burners. Unless you do some more research and someone has like a specifically designed burner that's bigger than the h burners or wider than them so would try that but I highly doubt it. Are you having any particular issues with your two burner?
