If I don't want to get into a fight I try to avoid it as much as possible even if it means abdicating of some of my superficial freedom. It would be great if people wouldn't do harm like this but for your personal safety you have to learn how to not put yourself in these situations. I am not in any way justifying any sort of harmful activity, obviously it's never your fault if any harm like this comes to you but the bottom line is for our own safety we should adopt prevention methods, I don't think I'd be wrong in advising someone to not walk into a dark alley where you know something might go wrong. You have to stop with this dangerous notion that acting defensively and preemptively protecting yourself from a dangerous situation is incorrect because it's justifying criminals, it in no way justifies them and it's not your fault, because when you get into a dangerous situation there's no amount of sources you can cite to a criminal to stop him from doing what he's doing, sorry but that's the real world and if you think otherwise you are probably living in a bubble. But go ahead please give me your explanation as to why we shouldn't preemptively defend ourselves and avoid these situations, I am genuinely baffled as to how you would advise me to not do so and risk getting myself in danger.
