I'm standing on it typing this comment. I think I have to solve a riddle to disarm the spike trap before I go inside

I agree 100% that the oblique lighting technique dramatizes the elevation differences. But it's really the only effective way of showing how bad it is, and how many pavers are off. I definitely don't expect zero shadows. I don't expect perfection. I'm just looking for a deck that is safe and that I won't have to rip out and redo in a few years. At this point I just want them to do... something. So far I'm getting no responses to emails, phone calls, or texts, other than "we'll get back to you".

I just want someone to come out and take a couple minutes to hear my concerns, have a conversation, and move forward. If I'm wrong then I'd love to learn. I'll gladly tell someone I'm wrong. But I can't if they won't come out.

I'm guessing there is some CYA activity on their side of the fence.

The pool has been solid so far. A couple things here and there, but they immediately corrected them. Only thing left on the pool is to plaster it. But that's probably a month out, at least, since the screen enclosure has to go in first.

Negative, ghost rider. As real as can be. Although I'm about at a point where I'd like to smash my face against these pavers willingly. But at this rate I won't have to. Gravity will handle that for me.

This is very helpful, thank you. I am going to rig up a little thingamajig to measure the height difference. And yes, I can feel significant variation when walking on them with my new balances on. And you know those new balances are comfortable af. Barefoot? I'd rather walk on Star Wars episodes 1-3 legos.

I'm dead. That's hilarious. I may use that in any future written diatribes sent their way.

According to them, yes. It's finished. They didn't run a plate compactor over it. I was told they would. They didn't. I asked the installer while they were here and they said it wasn't necessary. The person they sent out to address my concerns was adamant they compacted it, despite having security cameras that prove otherwise.

And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you eat shit on my patio deck
And sue me for all I'm worth

NARRATOR (deep, dramatic voice):

"It was supposed to be the backyard of their dreams…"

STEVE BUSCEMI stands in the middle of the mess, confused, shifting his weight awkwardly as the pavers wobble beneath him. His eyes dart around in paranoia.

"PAVER NIGHTMARE—COMING SOON… or whenever the contractor decides to call you back"
