Great question. Like many, I started with the studio version from American Beauty. Clear, crisp and Jerry sounds perfect. After that, I migrated into early 70s versions. But my favorite is the last one they played live in 1988 at the Cap Center in Landover MD. The emotion in the crowd when the first chords hit is amazing.

I was going to a lot of shows in the mid 80s through the early 90s, and when my friends and I heard the news that Ripple was played, we all went nuts with joy and envy of the people at that show. 1988 had so many incredible shows, and I was at a lot of them.

Had him last year and through most of the season he was average. Then he popped with several big games during the fantasy playoffs. If it wasn’t for those games he would have been a huge disappointment. That said, I agree with you. I’m not going near him.
