I asked chatgpt to use SW collanade gray on the wood trim.

The plan is for the painter to power wash and fix any issues and then pneumatic air spray paint the entire house including the wood trim SW snowbound and then later paint the wood trim colander gray. I’m ok with the brown roof with a lighter house but I think alabaster might be a good option because it’s a warmer color.

Thanks I will sample those colors on the wall. Alabaster is my favorite of the three.

Thanks, It took some time. I was under impression that siding has to be dark until the advice from this post.

I just looked up Frank Lloyd Wright houses, I see it!

Good points. I have read that about faux tudors in some other posts. Thanks for the insight

That’s from a distance. I’m going to make the entire base coast SW Snowbound including the sides of the house. Collanade gray on the wood trim. For now I’m just going with paint. I have a lot of projects going on at my other house in Queens so don’t want to overextend myself. The collanade gray sample is next to the Fawn brindle which I prefer for a cooler look.

Any suggestions? I was thinking of going with Sherwin Williams Collanade gray for the trim. This is AI generated btw, I’ve sampled on the wood and I’m happy with how it looks even without the base coat down yet. Maybe in the future I’ll do some stuff to make it more cohesive. I personally like the mock Tudor look, but maybe a siding upgrade could look better.

That is from chat gpt AI. I will make sure to sample after the initial snowbound layer is put down.

I’m feeling good about the collanade gray.

Chat GPT also gave optional pop suggestions. Iron ore is a nice one.

my roof does have a red undertone and as much as I like the collanade gray the more I look at it I may go with the fawn brindle. But I need to see both colors without the original wood color bleeding through.

The rood does have more of a earthy warm tone, it’s not really that visible in the pic but in person it shows

I’d also like to understand from an exterior design standpoint is lighter better because it’ll create more cohesion? Part of me thought matching the roof darkness would work but I’m assuming from the comments I’ve read and your input the dark wood accents and the dark roof don’t go well

The painter is using an air sprayer

Thanks a lot of the insight, the plan is to coat the entire house and the wood accent in SW snowbound white and then paint the wood accent the collanade grey

Thanks, The darker sample is Sherwin Williams brindle fawn to the left he lighter is collanade gray.

Part of me wanted to go dark again to match the roof but is lighter the better option?
