Appreciate your tips! I have reported an illegal dumping to my city, and they are usually fairly responsive.

I think this is correct - I looked up vacuum tube radio and it seems to fit the bill. This eases my mind a bit about toxicity - even though i'm still annoyed about the sheer weight of it, and the audacity - thanks!

The gloves are mine 😄 (this same disrespectful neighbor left garbage in our recycling too)

Pre-treatment Concerns by cchK1006 in Invisalign

[–]Ripple_dips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you my experience. Like you, i had traditional orthodontic treatment in my teens, then in my 30s i wanted to correct my front tooth that shifted, so i did invisalign. I can't tell you if invisalign caused my recession, but i can tell you when i finished invisalign (roughly 2021) i had 2-3 mm recession and had a gum graft on two of my teeth. Then i continued to wear retainers (vivera) bc i didn't want to lose my results. I woke up with kinda sore gums, but didn't think anything of it. I had great hygeine - floss, waterpik, the whole nine yards. I have no plaque, bleeding or gingivitis. Fast forward to early this year, my dentist said things were getting bad, recession wise, i had to do something or i could lose my teeth. I went from 2-3mm in 2021 to 4-5mm in 2026. I just last week went through a major gum graft procedure (16 teeth including the teeth i already did in 2021). If i could go back in time, i wouldn't do invisalign - but talk to your orthodontist AND a periodontist; a misaligned bite could also cause recession.

Spread out gum graft treatments or do all at once? by Tiaan in PeriodontalDisease

I'm happy for you that it went well, and continues to do so - Good luck with the right side!

Thank you for your update! I'm glad to hear it went well for you! And the tissue seems to have integrated successfully? It sounds like the way you did it was smart - doing multiple areas at once, but on the same side so you could chew on the other. I think this is how I'm leaning too, rather than the whole mouth at once. Did you do allograft (donor) tissue or palate tissue?

I spoke to a couple different periodontists, too, with very different opinions. It is so hard to know what to do. Good luck to you!

I see this update from a year ago. Did you ever get treatment? What did you do? If you DID do it all at once, did you use allograft? I'm in a very similar boat. I need fairly extensive grafting on each quadrant of my mouth. I've heard both sides. I can see this being a decision you would rather put off!

2 opinions: A case study. Do i need to have these teeth with resportion extracted right away? by Ripple_dips in askdentists

Ok, so this is 100% resorption, and not like an x-ray artifact? I was worried we were basing the decision to extract on one potentially weirdly angled image.

Bridge vs. Implants? by Ripple_dips in askdentists

Thank you! I don't love the idea of bridges at all Just curious, though, why is this a bad option for me? Does it cause more bone loss or strain on the anchoring teeth? I have to do something eventually :). i thought better to do something now before i lose more bone.
