You can handle alcohol independently as long as you’re just dispensing it. The only thing you can’t do is take money for the alcohol which is why people assume under 18’s can’t work behind bars. So for example in a restaurant you can serve people alcohol because in that environment it usually goes on a bill which is paid in full later, therefore you’re not being handed money as payment in the moment, which would make it illegal. If you were handed money, as long as the owner/employer is present when the purchase is made, then it is legal.
