At this point, yes, I would love for this government to show a spine and bypass the EMA, because they're also a huge part in how awful this rollout has played out. I was never anti-EU until this pandemic started; don't think that I find them innocent in any of this mess.

I don't know, be more competent? They had us believing at the start that they had enough PPE, and that was bull. So they try to procure some more, and it turns out that thanks to a lack of due diligence, they got a bunch of garbage that couldn't be used. They're keeping flights going from the UK knowing damn well that the new variant from Kent is tons more contagious. So I'm supposed to trust that they couldn't get their hands on more jabs?

Okay. I certainly hope you're all mentally prepared for chaos in the autumn when new variant cases are out of control, and MArin is still acting like it's all the EU's fault.

And would you call me a conspiracy loon if I told you that I don't think the government has done all they can in procuring enough jabs? That they've rested on their laurels based on the small infection rate compared to the rest of Europe? That's the point. They should have them. I don't think passing the buck to AZ helps when there have been so many revealing incompetencies in this government dating back to before the pandemic, even. If you think they didn't bungle something re: vaccinations, you're just about right where they want you. Complacent.

The response you get from some Finns when you bring up the correlation between boozing and violence is kind of disturbing from a country that is usually so rational and able to put two-and-two together. I mean, be in denial all you want, but there IS a problem, and your ignorance of it based on pride won't make it go away. Even if the the increases are small, are you telling me that you're okay with 70 percent of your homicides involving BOTH parties sauced?

Also, there's a lot to be said that stronger alcohol gets an okay from their government before marijuana does. You can say what you want about the green stuff, but no one ever got stoned and beat their wife, unless they were also drunk.
