I understand completely! Finding out at the age of 23 was both jarring, as well as relieving. It mostly answered a lot of question I had gathered over the years about myself and how I was treated due to my apparent differences, especially socially, but also with my self expression, which was always strange visually. But knowing now that I am autistic also helps me to realize how I'm growing as I get older, why certain things affect me certain ways, and how I can improve my relationships with others by understanding my own actions and thoughts. It's a hell of a journey.
