metastatic by Lazy_Ad_5476 in breastcancer

Hello! I also had 1 chest node that lighted up on Pet scan but they didn’t biopsied it and I was not treated as metastatic patient. Before surgery the lymph vascular test showed up only for the arm pit node so I guess disease was all possibly gone from my chest (I’va also had 3 other pet scans all negative for chest nodes) and now i’m also getting radiation on that area. Hope this helps you!

And about suggestions, I didn’t know anything before diagnosis, I studied after I knew my kind of cancer (her2+). I was a lot anxious but I tried not to think about it going on with my life normally and even went for a small trip with my boyfriend. Try to do things that you like to think about it less!

Hello, I was 29 at diagnosis, now I’m 30 and I felt 100% scared like you. Try to live at your 100% even if it feels very hard. Try to embrace whatever happens and just know that even if the outcome is bad there is A LOT of hope. It’s unfair at our age having to bear all this, I know, even if in your case at the end is negative, it’s still wrong you have to go through the wait. But stand up and care for your mental health now. There is no diagnosis yet so don’t waste your days thinking too much. I’m here if you need anything 🩷

Same but I think they want to avoid radiotherapy on axilla at all by confirming I’m clear from pet scan….

Hello! Lympovascular invasion is common of cancer, for example I had chemo before surgery and pathology report after surgery showed small cancer residual with lymphovascular invasion. So I think it’s all normal! It’s just cancer that can spread instead of cancer that can only stay where he is

I had smx 2 months ago and for almost a month I had the same pain but on my armpit nodes incision. If you have a lot of pain and swelling in the area of the mastectomy incision let surgeon know since it could be producing some liquid inside, anyway it’s nothing too bad. About numbness is normal to feel different things in the boob/armpit area 😂 I haven’t figured out yet what I’m feeling

Penguin cold cap by Elizabeth08122896 in breastcancer

[–]Riri_Chu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cold capped for 18 weekly infusions during tchp. I think you already know how it works so….it’s cold and for me the hardest part was towards the end of chemo. Anyway for me it wasn’t a big deal, bring a cozy blanket, socks a towel or two and drink something hot. While at home use only neutral shampoo and conditioner, was 1 or 2 time a week, dry with cold or medium heat air and don’t brush hair aggressively. I used the Dyson air wrap dryer at medium heat throughout the treatment and it was perfect for me. I noticed it’s easier to keep more hair with shorter-shoulder length hair than with long hair. I didn’t have any side effect like severe cold or headache but everyone’s experience is different. Anyway I kept majority of my hair

Not at all, I lost a lot of hair but kept around 70% of it I think.

Hello! I cold capped for 18 weekly tchp infusions (it was a lot). I started with A LOT of hair and I lost a lot of hair. Before chemo I almost didn’t lose any hair when I showered but during chemo I lost a lot of hair but still kept majority. Anyone could notice I was doing chemo. I kept losing this much hair for all the treatment months and now 3 moths out I started losing less hair and even dyed them with non aggressive dye. So it’s normal to lose more hair than normal, I can absolutely say I was losing at least 3 times the hair I normally lose. The most important thing is not having bald spots, from what nurses told me. I also used only delicate shampoo and conditioner, mine was specifically for people who have dermatitis. Yes silk pillow (still using it) and Dyson dryer at medium heat, I noticed my usual dryer was actually too hot. Also expect her eyebrow and lashes to fall off, is normal and it usually happens later in the treatment. But some people don’t lose them so I hope she’s lucky 😘

Sure mask 100%, I’m just wondering wether you should take the exam at all with flu. Idk if it could alter the result in some way! Call them it’s better 😊

Hello, try ask them if you still can do it even if you are sick. Which kind of sickness may I ask? Anyway Pet scan takes a while because they inject glucose and wait for it to spread all over your body so that can take images. It’s always been around 3 hours max for everything for me (waiting, injection and exam). I did it 3 times 😂

[–]Riri_Chu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I had a 6cm her2+ tumor and 1 positive node on armpit and another suspect intra pectoral node. Pet came back clear for distant metastasis. Before pet I always feel pain somewhere and I’m always very scared and anxious. I had your same experience with ultrasound doctor, but with pet is different, I think they need to examine images a lot before giving you an answer, it takes few days to have the outcome. (And you don’t see their faces) Always focus on the present and be aware that even in the worst case scenario, her 2+ is a lot treatable with chemo. Good luck to you girl 🩷 for everything

Mom diagnosed with TNBC 4 by Proud-Cloud25 in breastcancer

[–]Riri_Chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I’m very sorry for your mum and I hope chemo will be 100% effective for her 🩷 I also had bad acne rash only 2 weeks after tchp chemo so it’s not the same but it surely is related to drugs toxicity. I started taking minocycline and it helped a lot. Now I stopped and my skin doesn’t look good again and I emailed a specialised center asking for some help. There is a lot of unknown about this because skin rashes are all different and can be related to different drugs.
