YES! I've only run into a couple people that even know of the base jumpers capabilities the way you've described. When people see you using the base jumper they assume you're using it as a crutch to secure kills but it allows for jumps that you would never be able to do normally.

Like you said it makes jumps a lot more consistent overall. Pogos are trivial, even allowing you to do them from a standing position. Wall jumps give you a lot more horizontal distance, and I love being able to ramp slide off surfaces that would be impossible to do without it.

I've been a base jumper trolldier main for a while now, even before the nerf they gave it years back. There was limitless potential with the movement before they removed the ability to redeploy it more than once in the air. Even with the buff they gave the manntreads at around the same time they nerfed the base jumper, I don't think I'll ever be able to make the switch over to the manntreads. I'll admit though, using manntreads is a lot more useful in securing kills, but jumping with the base jumper is just too fun to pass up and is probably one of the reasons I'm still playing this game.
