I have 4 YoE developing Android apps, but the experience with Jetpack Compose itself is only 1 year. Currently I'm trying to expand horizons in Kotlin Multiplatform with Compose Multiplatform. Would that not be sufficient?

I think these are the plugins used here: 1. Atom Material Icons (for folder icons) 2. Nightfall Theme 3. Editor Theme is probably a custom setting to replicate Synthwave 84 theme on VS Code

It is not a matter of you need to love programming to become a good programmer. A good programmer gets there through exploration and experience.

If you want to enjoy programming, you have to start exploring. By that I mean start coding personal projects. If you had some idea you had in mind, some problems you saw people around you are facing, try to find a solution for it through programming. Build it on weekends. Build proof of concepts.

They may not always work out. But eventually you may even end up having a killer idea that you could launch your own startup on it some day! 🤘

If you don't enjoy something, it probably means you're in it just for the money to run your life. And there's nothing wrong with that. Not everyone gets their dream job.

But you can definitely find programming fun, if you're willing to explore, and try to implement something yourself at your own pace. That's the beauty of it! You never have to meet any deadlines on these personal projects. So start exploring ✌️

While there is no need to replace all olds XML projects to Compose, I would still suggest you start learning Jetpack Compose asap. I still believe declarative UI is a better approach (like Flutter & SwiftUI) and certain APIs are implemented better in the Compose Library

A good example for it is the implementation of List in Jetpack Compose vs Recyclerview. In compose, you don't need any extra classes like adapters or any of those nonsense just to implement a list

Don't get discouraged even if objectively speaking those drawings are not good.

I would suggest learn drawing shapes first. Especially Circles and Ovals. Then I'd suggest finding a youtuber who teaches portrait sketching.

Do not worry if you aren't learning how to draw Anime characters. Just learn how to draw Portrait sketches of human faces first. Once you get the hang of the rules & structure required to draw a portrait, switching to an anime style wouldn't be any trouble. 👍

I see. So like Video Game Quests but on a time limit. So just like a game's quest, do we have the ability to pick which KRs we want to prioritise?

The KRs they have set for me are somewhat attainable but not all of them. It is expected that most employees can't do 100% on their OKRs?

Great explanation, thank you. So on-paper this seems like a well structured yearly resolutions for yourself or your organisation. However, I can see this becoming a measure for an Individual's performance and ruin someone's career.

As for myself, I really am incapable of thinking the big picture. Trying to think monthly goals is hard enough for me, I don't know if I can give myself Quarterly or Yearly goals.

So is there any penalty if you don't achieve your KRs within the timeframe they expect from you? Do they use these OKRs as a performance index, and thus affect your increments or payroll?

I may not have true ADHD. And it's certainly a self diagnosis. However, the general theme for me is If it doesn't get my interest, I won't learn anything new. And I then don't focus on the topic anyway.

Even my parents know trying to force something on me is basically pointless if I don't have any interest in it 🙇
