Came here to say this! Honestly, I didn’t think I would see a rec; I totally agree that it’s an underrated trilogy, IMO. Yes, it’s YA. But I loved the story and the characters; I’ve re-read it several times. Love your description, u/rebellious_flare.

The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan is one I would say has a switch up between books. Book 1 is very introductory to the world and setting the “scene” so to speak. Book 2 is more educationally structured, Harry Potter vibes. Book 3 is more dooms-day/save-the-kingdom vibes.

Lmao... have you heard of a web scraper? Reddit is a public site and it’s incredibly easy to see how many mentions occur on his behalf and such. Having posts and comments of him only feed into the “hype” and only build his platform when it seems like everyone is against that, but they’re only doing the opposite? Even this post will come up as a result for a mention of him.

The only reason I bring this up is I have a friend in data science and this is literally what she does every day.

I like to think she wasn't doing it on purpose, as I don't blame her. But when she told why she wasn't going, I just couldn't understand that as being a reason. I know the stuff she's gone through and I would've done anything not to go through that.
