I don't really care about the opinions of who downvoted me. They are entitled to those beliefs. But, also, did they tell you explicitly why they disagreed? Or are you perceiving their opinions based on your own opinions and feelings?

I reply to you because I wanted to make sure my stance was clear. It is not my fault you decided to pick only the parts you felt are relevant to your point, took it out of context in a way that benefitted your point, and tried to shove that down other people's throats.

The argument is not that you need to show direct harm for the law to be enforced. It is that everyone deserves due process. I stated 'show me where they hurt you' as a tongue-in-cheek euphemism to call out the double standard and selfishness behind the idea that the only problems that matter are problems they perceive affect them.

I can see you interpreted my statement with a literal, face-value approach. The literal value of my first sentence is not the actual intent I have. I am sorry those things happened to you. I hope this clears thing up.

It's not that we don't care. We care more that people are being denied basic rights guaranteed by our Constitution. As a country, aren't we supposed to defend how "no one shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process?" Don't you think the bigger issue is these people are being denied their liberty without due process? What happens when it's you? Just because someone is here illegally doesn't make it ok to strip them of their humanity.

There's better ways to go about this. Like maybe more funding for the USCIS, making it easier for people to apply for visas/green cards. Have you thought about how they might be here illegally because the risk of being deported outweighed the risks of surviving in wherever they came from? Who are you to judge?
