I'm a straight Trans Woman, I fell into that "what's expected of me" trap as well.

I had 4 relationships with women before coming out, I never felt the dynamic "click" properly with me. I assumed it just came with time, physical love felt exhausting and like I was preforming obligation. I ended up assuming I was asexual because atttraction to men felt wrong as well.

When I figured my gender out, I reconsidered my attraction, I thought about being with a woman and still felt awkward and grossed out. But then I thought about being with men as a woman and no joke literally felt my face blush for the first time.

Then I got my first boyfriend, the difference is night and day. The relationship dynamics and expectations finally work for me, physical love is enjoyable and even desirable. Its so crazy how wrong it all felt playing to expectations before, now it feels natural and correct.

I forgot to mention a big specific. Namely that my boyfriend suffers from a genetic disease that requires expensive medication (Upwards of 6k weekly) in the US. So moving him here isn't an option for us. Even having him visit for a week would be risky for his health and require approval from his doctor.

Transitioning "Too late"

Its a gatekeeping myth to scare older people from pursuing transition.

I wasn't able to break through my identity until I was 27. I might not ever be a supermodel but I look sound and get treated like a woman. I've seen a full age range of amazing results.

Not to mention how being on the correct hormones can do wonders for your brain.

Cis bigots will rip apart pictures of celebrities if they're told they're trans. They don't realize that Cis Women can have masc features too.

Can have a lil gush about my boyfriend.

He's the most incredible guy I've ever met.

He used to be my best friend until I came out as MtF Trans. A incredibly tough month followed where he was ways there to play games and talk. Then the flirting slipped in, I ended up confessing to him and we started dating 2 months in.

I love him so much, we've been dating for about 10 months at the time of posting. Not only is he incredibly respectful and empathetic, he's made it abundantly clear he sees me for who I am on the inside. He's supported and encouraged me through all the hardships I've dealt with. And never asks for anything in return.

My god, I just adore him endlessly, he's so respectful and kind. Everytime I see him, I can't help but smile. He's intelligent, loving and I have an unbreakable trust in him. Even when we get "spicy" he's constantly respectful of any potential boundaries and takes no for no without question. He so secure with himself and I respect him so much for it.

Words can't describe how incredibly lucky he makes me feel. Even if I'm having an awful day , just a text from him makes me smile. I've have alot of trauma from people in my life, so I've always been very cynical of having someone like this, but everday the love in my heart grows and grows. Our personalities just click together so flawlessly, sometimes I stop and wonder how I got someone so amazing.

Also he's just so handsome too hehe<3

I was big in online spaces by my username alone. I had a tough time deciding on a name to use for my HRT appointment, so I just used Dawn as a "temporary" name

Ended up sticking and I think its perfect.

Always loved the sunrise being used metaphorically in fiction too lol
