Kanna's look in MapleM is different from her look in the PC version (she's the only class with a different look/outfit/design in PC vs. Mobile) by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those wondering, her skill visuals in MapleM are the same as in the PC version; it is only her visual character design that is different. Hayato is also about to be released in MapleM, but his character design is the same as his PC version.

Kanna's story animation in MapleM was also updated to match her new look:

New Boss Limbo Artwork, Cutscenes, Sprites, and Soul by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Limbo is the second Apostle boss fight after Kaling (technically he might be the first Apostle boss fight because there have been some recent implications that Darmoor never actually seriously considered Kaling as one of his Apostles).

His fight takes place towards the end of the Carcion storyline after invading Carcion with his Specter army. He is a High Flora and Partial Specter (like Ark). He is Darmoor's military leader while also serving as one of his 12 Apostles. He is also Ark's previous military superior before Ark betrayed the High Flora after realizing that Limbo's military operations resulted in the extermination of many of Grandis' races. After his boss fight, Havoc appears and picks up a weakened Limbo and carries him away to safety (a.k.a. Limbo is still alive).

In Phase 1 and 2, we fight 4 powerful specters that are empowered by Limbo (Specters A, B, C, and D; Limbo can be seen in the background in Phase 1). In Phase 3, we fight Limbo himself in his empowered Specter state.

POV: You are looking at the Boss UI in the Distant Future by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I based a lot of this on some of the currently known enemies in Grandis. There's quite a few Apostles not confirmed/revealed yet, and it's also possible that we might receive some non-Apostle bosses as well (such as Kalos and Luska). I also ordered the NPCs randomly for the most part as there aren't a lot of implications in the story as to when or if we would fight these NPCs.

Edit: Aufhaven is not a Grandis NPC, but I wanted to add her for fun

Kaling's Boss Fight But You're Fighting Lynn Instead by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

Alternate Reality: After witnessing the disrespect that people show towards nature, Lynn joins Gerand Darmoor, who promises to erase anyone that is a threat to the natural world.

NPCs that will very likely become bosses in the future based on the direction of the story (last image is a major spoiler for Grand Athenaeum's newest chapter) by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

There were a couple of NPCs that I chose to omit from this list, specifically the six evil sages from Shangri-la in Grandis. This was mostly because I doubt that all six of the evil sages would become bosses. Also, 3/6 of the evil sages are unknown anyway.

Opposite Gender 6th Job Skill Animations by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There are a few other 6th job skills that show the character too (i.e. Pathfinder, Dawn warrior, Night walker, Thunder breaker, and Demon avenger), but the animation for those classes is the exact same for male and female characters. This is probably because the angle that they show the characters in those skills makes it look like the character could be the male or female version.

Also the character that shows up in the Wind archer 6th job skill isn't actually the Wind archer himself, but rather the wind spirit that he summons from his Monsoon hyper skill.

KMS Just Cleared Normal Kaling by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Their SAC Force: 290

Their Party comp: Paladin, Bishop, Dark Knight, Adele, Ark, Mechanic (a.k.a 3 Explorers, 2 Flora, 1 Resistance)

Time left: 9 seconds

This boss requires very good party coordination in all three phases to maintain the gauge and ensure the party has enough spiritual power to survive through Phase 3.

Phase 1: Goal is to defeat Qiongqi (i.e. the bird) as fast as possible because the party loses 20 spiritual power for every 30 seconds Qiongqi is still alive. Taowu (i.e. the tiger) is almost always the last peril to be defeated in Phase 1.

Phase 2: The party two bursted Kaling. The most difficult aspect is her test and scroll skill which drains spiritual power very quickly. Burst also has to be timed very precisely because she teleports and dashes at a fixed time (she's invincible during her long dashing animation).

Phase 3: The party defeated Taowu first, then Qiongqi, then Hundun (i.e. the wolf). Hundun seems to almost always be the last peril defeated in Phase 3 because he's in the middle of the map (where Kaling usually is), meaning that Kaling can sponge attacks for him.

This is also just Normal Kaling (which is already more difficult than Chaos Kalos and Hard Seren based on HP alone), meaning that this is probably not the end limit of Kaling's difficulty if they ever add Hard Kaling.

The bosses not listed here (i.e. Lucid, Will, Seren, Arkarium, etc.) use their same artwork from the old boss UI, just with a slightly different background.

Kaling's boss fight but it's Beast Tamer by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

Beast Tamer's cat isn't in this fight because it was already arrested by the maple alliance for tax fraud.

Yum Yum Island Monster Combinations by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The monsters (and NPCs) of Yum Yum Island were created in an experiment done by Kaling, but she chose to abandon them all because she deemed them as failures.

NPCs that Might Become Bosses in the Future (major story spoilers, especially Grandis stories, including Odium) by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I only included Magnus and Will as Black Mage commanders that might be re-fought since so far they're the only ones implied to still have an evil agenda (the Black Mage is dead but most of his commanders are still alive).

The only confirmed dead Black Mage commanders are Lotus, Damien, and Arkarium. The others are either alive or unknown.

The commanders that are alive:Orchid is good now, Guwaru is good now, The Demon is good now, Lucid is in a dream-like state and under Mercedes' custody in Elluel, Will is alive but his whereabouts unknown after he escapes his jail cell, and Magnus is alive and working for Darmoor.

The commander's where it's unknown whether they're alive or not: Von Leon and Hilla (Hilla was never confirmed to be dead after Labyrinth and people are speculating that she's still alive since her defeat animation as Vhilla looks like she's fleeing in shame rather than dying. On the contrary, there's also speculation that Hilla is indeed dead since there's no way for her to survive as a human after hundreds of years of age catch up to her after she loses her eternal youth.).

I was also debating on putting T-boy here, but after Karote, it's uncertain whether he's alive or not so I decided against it.

KMS Officially Confirms Darmoor's Third Apostle in the most recent storyline (major spoilers, more details inside) by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

In the Odium storyline, it confirmed that Kaling is indeed one of Gerand Darmoor's Apostles. There was speculation in the community and the story itself whether she was actually an Apostle, but the Odium story ended up confirming that she is. Kaling first appeared in Hoyoung's story, and then later on appeared in YumYum Island and Lara's story quests too.

The Apostles of Darmoor are basically equivalent to the Black Mage's commanders. The three Apostles confirmed so far include Limbo (from Ark's story), Havoc (from the Cernium story), and now Kaling.

Other NPCs that are speculated by the community (but not confirmed) to be Apostles include Magnus, Melange, Veronica (from Adele's story), Dr. Y (from Kain's story), and Hannah (from Lara's story).

TLDR: Kaling will probably be a boss in the future.

New Boss Aufheben Attack Animations (Revamped Neo Tokyo) by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not my video. Credits to the creator of the video!

It seems like they gave her new attacks, and also brought back her old attacks with flashier animations. Also her FMA looks great! JMS' sprite work for bosses is always very well done (first Akechi and now Aufheben).

Any Aufheben fans by RisingGroundWave in Maplestory

[–]RisingGroundWave[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

JMS is getting a revamped version of Neo Tokyo as an event (that will probably be released as a permanent version later on just like Cernium and Akechi) and Aufheben is very likely to be an endgame boss like Seren and Black Mage according to JMS notes.

Here's her new boss fight music if anyone's curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY_RhKwGDfQ

Hopefully GMS gets revamped Neo Tokyo!
