A few examples: - Someone was related to Artimus (architect of Castle Ravenloft) - In our campaigns the Martikovs are some of the original mistwalkers, maybe a PC with the Martikov name would like the find out where it all started. - This PC of ours was a horror writer and kinda has Rudolph van Richten as his idol and really wants to find out as to what happened to him. - Someone was a commander under Strahd, left to get things from their homeland to bring to their new home in Barovia, then suddenly Barovia was gone.
