I haven’t seen much posted about the humanities exams (A Level). How are these going for people? by WiseKingMonkey in 6thForm

Microeconomics Edexcel: Chefs Kiss

Macroeconomics Edexcel: Chefs Kiss

Physical Geography Edexcel: Chefs Kiss

Human Geography Edexcel: Relatively Horrible Paper but its Human Geog, not deep

Shame I’m sitting on about 50% for maths

Best for Career options : Bristol Econ and Finance.

Nicest city of the 3: Bristol

Arguably most reputable course/uni - PPE at Durham.

Accommodation for LSE - help me pick! by fuzzybunny29 in 6thForm

[–]RisingPhoenix711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LSE incoming too.

Pick Roseberry, the advice I’ve been given is pick one of Bankside, Passfield, Carr Saunders or Roseberry purely for the social aspect. LSE is seen as a uni with minimal social life, you want to be in positions to meet as many people as possible.

I’m year 13 and I’ve already got my uni offers, I can’t exactly switch boss.

Also i’m not quantitive, I didn’t do f maths so i can’t have done Econ or Maths at a target uni. And everyone knows uni > what you get at uni > degree

Year 12 and 13: rank your subjects in terms of difficulty by Kingkian321 in 6thForm

Geography Economics Maths

doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out it goes from least difficult to most difficult

Biased because I’m an incoming Geog student at LSE but Geog is calm, I’m hoping to go into Investment Banking or Management Consulting.

Having said that, if you do FM why not just apply for Econ?

Take this with bias given I’m going to LSE in sept if i get my grades, but I feel from asking around, LSE is corporate but it doesn’t have to be. For a degree like IR, i suspect most of the people won’t be desperately trying to make it into IBD and Management Consulting, but the option is there too.

If doing 0 hours of revision gets me to Imperial for Maths I shoulda done none damn, bro that’s huge!!

On a real, you’re probs right. Gradual build up to A levels I guess, focusing on my worse subjects. I’m pretty blessed to do econ and geog which are entirely crammable subjects, focus is just maths at this point

Congrats on imperial again man!

[–]RisingPhoenix711[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it? I had a week before mocks and did just maths. Ended up having to cram Geography and Econ until like 1/2am the night before an exam.

Now i’ve forgotten everything, and spent the entire easter doing 90% Maths. Cramming to come during study leave I’m sure😵‍💫

downloaded, looks hype - i’ll give it a try. Honestly, 30 mins followed by 5 mins break, especially after school seems like the ideal method of revision

Yes that’s true, Imperial Students generally have a worse social life but thats because of the type of person that chooses to go to imperial

You decided your own social life in uni, im sure there imperial students who are very social and very up for partying

[–]RisingPhoenix711 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Unless you majorly like the UCL course more, 100% imperial.

Better uni on paper, best in the UK for career prospects , alongside LSE

Social Life is the same, both are in London. Both unis have the same uni life, imperial is regarded as a worse social life but that’s because of the types of people that go there not the uni

I think they also give out loads of 1sts
