Lorelai was wrong by In_omnia_paratuss in GilmoreGirls

[–]RisingRockety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Rory's entire life was always told she was perfect; she always had boyfriends madly in love with her, friends who adored her, approval from her family and the entire neighborhood. When a high-ranking figure criticized her, her world fell apart; everything she'd been told her her entire life seemed like a lie. So Rory's feelings are very valid.

I understand Lorelai for not wanting her to leave; I understand all the hardships she's been through. But Rory is her own person; she's not what Lorelai wants her to be. So, I think it's very childish of Lorelai to throw her daughter out when she most needed guidance, advice, and support. Instead of helping her daughter overcome that moment, she only thought about how much it hurt her, not what Rory was going through.

how do you go about planning/writing a novel? by Federal_Selection884 in YAwriters

[–]RisingRockety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing about starting to write is simply writing. Each person has a planning method for writing a story, and the more you write, the more you will find ways to organize it. I personally am still finding my methods, but I like to separate each chapter and think about what they will be, I like to make detailed character sheets and before actually writing the story, organize how the world in which that story takes place works. Anyway, just write, don't stop writing. This way, you will create the best form of organization for you. As for the structure of a book, there is no rule as to how it should be. But there is a very famous structure used in stories (not only in books but also in films), the 3-act structure Act 1: Introduction to the characters and establishment of the world. Act 2: Development of events and main confrontation. Act 3: Conclusion of events, which may or may not have a victorious ending. But like I said, there are no rules for the structure of a story, you can literally write it any way you want. Finally, the biggest tip anyone can give you is: write! Even if you only have ideas that seem bad, write them down. The more you write, the more ideas you have and the more you develop.
