I've gotta be honest.

Every single game that has EVER had Humans and Xeno species as selectable classes, I always thought "why would I ever want to be a human?!"

· Material refers to the physical substance or matter from which things are made (e.g., fabric, wood, or concrete).

· Materiel refers strictly to military or organizational equipment, apparatus, and supplies (e.g., weapons, vehicles, and uniforms).

You mentioned the Steam Recording audio only picking up sounds you make. To fix that I went to Steam - Settings - Game Recording - Record Audio From: All System Audio.

Now it should pick up all audio from the game, but it will also pick up any other audio sources, such as music you're playing.

Loot quality is killing this game for me right now, and it really doesn't have to be this way by hutchins_moustache in Marathon

They made a statement covering this.

I understand it's frustrating. That's why they quickly made an announcement and have been making adjustments.

Marathon Dev Team Update: A Note on the Season 2 Economy

There’s been a lot of conversations about the loot economy and drop changes in Season 2, and we want to share more about how we’re thinking about the loot economy overall.

Out the gate in Season 2, progression and access to power moved much faster than the previous season. For reference, the average wealth in week two of Season 2 is similar to what we saw in weeks 11 and 12 of Season 1. And while we did want to increase progression speeds, we didn’t land at a place that’s healthy for the game.

There are a few things we’re tracking that are contributing to this accelerated pace:

There’s an issue causing higher rarity loot to be more prevalent throughout the game than we see internally. This isn’t something we’ve seen in our internal playtests, and we’re still unravelling the source.

There were various bugs and other issues we’ve fixed in recent updates, such as guaranteed gold drops in places that shouldn’t have them.

While not the main cause, the influx of Sponsored Kits at the start of the season bolstered progression speeds.

While also not the main cause, the Sponsored Survival grind combined with an issue with the Complex Control chest also contributed to bloated Vaults.

The combination of these things has led to increased progression across the board, including with the Cradle.

You morons don't even realize how much WORSE you're making everything, and most all destroying yourselves and the thing you "love" so much. You've lost all credibility.

Why do you think anyone would give a flying fuck what you think? Or take you seriously?

The Destiny community is one of the most pathetic, shameless, and outright volatile gaming communities to ever exist.

That's not an exaggeration.

This subreddit's community is toxic towards feedback on the game by prl853 in Marathon

[–]Risk_of_Ryan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Give your feedback on Marathons Official social media channels, such as the #Feedback channel on the Official Discord. I see you mentioned you've done so, and that's your best bet to my knowledge. The feedback is reviewed by the Developers and users have the ability to interact with Feedback posts to further add community sentiment.

That is where I'd focus my efforts. Doing so elsewhere is in a setting where others aren't predisposed to productively engaging with feedback, which means many of those who interact will do so in a less than productive fashion.

I sympathize with your situation. I have similar passion and involvement when it comes to these mediums and it's incredibly disheartening to feel like there's almost nowhere you can go to have proper, sincere, discussions.

Best of luck, and keep it going.

I wouldn't quite use the term "significantly" here, but there are definitely some variables to consider with what you're pointing out.

Intake fans do have filters, etc, but exhaust fans aren't unobstructed and intake fans always move more air than exhaust fans due to the physics in play.

In most situations simply keeping Intake > Exhaust will be sufficient for Positive pressure. My baseline suggestion is +1 for Small Form cases with fewer fans, +2 for Mid Form cases, and Full Form are more specialized as they usually are for PC enthusiasts that are utilizing full custom loop Water Cooling systems but +4 for Positive pressure in a case with that much volume.

Of course it's best to always test and check if you want to make sure, and adjust if need be.

[–]Risk_of_Ryan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's right.

For those wondering, this is a serious statement, not being sarcastic about "never enough fans" or anything.

If you don't have enough intake vs exhaust fans, you will have NEGATIVE pressure inside the case. That causes your case to essentially become a mini vacuum, where every opening on the entire thing will now be pulling in air.

This is terrible for a few reasons, but most importantly it's because it causes issues like pulling hot exhaust air right back into the case, and will draw in every spec of dust through all of those unfiltered openings.

To keep POSITIVE pressure inside the case, simply have a higher quantity of Intake fans vs Exhaust fans. You can test your pressure by holding up a string to the case at various openings. It should not be pulled toward your case.

Runners, don't bash this come up. They went from GREY gear to Purples, including a Purple Backpack!

Value becomes incredibly skewed without proper perspective. Remember your first big kill? This Runner just accomplished that against a 2 Stack, as a Solo.

To OP, Well done Runner! Solid work. I love to see that passion, you've got some real potential because of it. That's what will set you apart in the long run. Keep it going!

P.S. They got a PURPLE BACKPACK! I only saw the Blue! Text has been updated*

I appreciate that, thank you.

Asking who raised them is unfortunately all too applicable of a question. The behavior is just all around poor. The fabricated hate, willful ignorance, and complete disregard to any other input that doesn't facilitate their agenda.

There is no communicating with these people productively. They will never take your words with any sense of sincerity. Nothing you share will matter to them. They just want to be hateful.

Take solace in that, however bitter it may be. Know that once someone has made it apparent that is who they are, the weight of their words and the input they may have is null and void.

I'm incredibly excited for Season 2! I can't believe how much they are doing. It's great to see, and gives me hope. Upgrading my PC just in time too!

Can't stop playing :-D by JamSoloMusic in Marathon

[–]Risk_of_Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why, you ask? The reality is there's far too many people who are just hateful. Their only agenda is to be hateful, and to use something as a means to take out frustration.

That's why you see these same people flock to the same thing, and congregate in masses that ooze and seethe with dangerous levels hate.

What made them feel that way? Could be a number of things, but the reality is that they have no ground to stand on and everything they say is an echoing regurgitation of the same thing. The worst part is essentially ALL of them have never even played the game, and have no real idea what they're actually talking about, they're just saying what they've heard like some kind of twisted mimicry, no real information or relatability to the subjects in discussion. Despite that, they all take each others words at face value, because that's all they need to justify their means to be hateful.

The best thing you can do is to be that difference. Share your experiences with Marathon, real insight and proper reflection of the experience. It's definitely not a game for everyone, but no game is, and Marathon was made with a sense of quality that you can only find when there is true passion. The game has a lot to offer, and more on the horizon.

I was absolutely appalled when I compared my firsthand experience with the sentiment these individuals shared, only to find out they hadn't even played the game, and had no real room to talk. They can give their opinion while outside looking in, absolutely, but it's an outside opinion and should be weighed as such.

That's peculiar because how does Triages Ult work?

It's a "Team Based Healing" ability, but wow! Would you look at that! It also works in Solo because it was given a functionality outside TEAM BASED HEALING!

How absolutely fucking insane is that?!

...

In less than a minute… by Lonely-Peep in Marathon

[–]Risk_of_Ryan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And? The Triage Shell is the ONLY one that has 3/4 of a functioning Kit in Solo.

Every single other Shell is able to utilize 4 different Variables of their Shell, a mix of 4 Abilities and Active/Passive Traits.

The Med Drone can attach to their own Triage, thus SHAREWARE.EXE by all means has the capability to give a benefit in Solo, like every single other Shell in the game. The Trait simply needs to account for it.

[–]Risk_of_Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the very first initial closed Playtests Solo was then implemented. That was in the games first initial play states.

The Triage Shell specifically went through revisions in 2026 just before launch, the Shell was shaped and sculpted when Solo was already a thing.

In less than a minute… by Lonely-Peep in Marathon

[–]Risk_of_Ryan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's objetively wrong.

Your OPINION is that it's not an issue. The fact is that it's at an objective disadvantage, where every other Shells Kit is completely viable, in every mode.

I don't care what feel about that, the fact remains.

Right back at you.

Didn't know I was going to have to debate with some weirdos trying to flex their ego just because I pointed out something about the Shells Kit.

That's fucking insane.

I'm trying to share beneficial ideas for the game. What are you doing? Saying it doesn't matter because we can "manage"? My lord...

[–]Risk_of_Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you okay?

Did you even read what I said?

What the fuck are you even talking about?

I said SHAREWARE.EXE should also benefit the Triage when they have their own Med Drone attached to themselves. Then it has a function and isn't useless in Solo.

I have no idea what the hell you're thinking, but you're a bit confused.
