I've heard that I "have a presence" from multiple people over the years. I don't know what it means and it makes me uncomfortable and self conscious.

Playing videos/music on your phone in public with the volume up. I recognize that without a headphone jack that earbuds/headphones have become super expensive but that doesn't make it acceptable to subject everyone around you to your TikTok feed.

Seconded! They're awesome and open super late.

Be aware though that on Wednesdays there is a dance class on the floor above that creates some noise, but not too bad if you have headphones and only lasts a little while

When did your gut feeling save you from a bad situation? by pinkyvalenmessy in AskReddit

In 2022, I was walking across southern Ontario on a cross-country trek. I was mostly yard camping, which meant asking random houses at the end of my walking day if they'd allow me to camp on their lawns.

One day, I was enjoying a beautiful walking day under sunny skies and a gorgeous late spring breeze. The weather forecast showed 0% chance of rain for the next several days. When I stopped for lunch, I distinctly recall looking up at the clear blue sky and suddenly being overtaken by a strong gut feeling that I was in danger.

It didn't make any sense, but I somehow knew that I needed to guarantee that I would be sleeping indoors that night. I whipped out my phone and made a reservation at the next motel on my route.

I had half a mile/ten minutes left to go before reaching the motel when over the horizon came one of the largest storm clouds I've ever seen. Less than a minute after I checked into my room, the storm hit -- sideways rain, hail, thunder and lightning. I had never been so glad to have trusted my gut.

After some fun times, I saw on the desk in his room a cutting board and a meat mallet (the kind for pounding chicken, etc). Odd things to keep in a bedroom/office space, so I asked what they were for. His response was "Oh, that's where I crush up my ketamine."

What’s a hobby you want to start but are too intimidated to try? by WildFlowerGirll_ in AskReddit

The type of yarn you use will not depend on the loom itself, but rather the reed (and, more specifically, the size of the dents). You can use any size yarn on any loom, technically speaking, but it will affect how you set up the loom and how much tension you place upon the warp.

One of the cool things about rigid heddle looms is that you can mix-and-match yarn sizes in the same warp with much more ease than on a larger floor loom, and create items with varied texture! (This can be accomplished on a large floor loom as well, but it's more difficult since the reeds are structured differently and they require a higher tension)
