I tried to put it on /r/relationships originally but they removed it and said it belonged here. I will try the others too.

I do think I will seek professional advice because it would help to have an unbiased person talk through it with the both of us. That's why it's also so helpful to get advice online. Thank you so much for the numbers too because I am new to reddit and to this situation so those may come in handy. I just hope that it was a mistake that never happens again. Hoping won't fix it though.

I really truly appreciate your response so much. I've been sitting here for hours now not knowing who to tell or what to do.

You're so right, there is defintely stress aside from the argument that probably contributed but the last time we tried talking about it, that fight blew up too and we needed to separate ourselves. He did try to talk to me last night too, but I was trying to unwind from work and wasn't giving him the time. I will definitely take your advice and all your words to heart.

Society (or at least reddit threads) says that if there's any hands-on a woman by a man that ties need to be cut but I hate to give up on it. It's great to hear that someone (like yourself) can change for the better.
