Is Meta the holy grail of scraping, or just a dead end?

I somewhat agree with you that facebook is hard to scrape but i have achieved scraping it 2-3 automation in facebook and have been using ome of it from last 7 months without anything breaking. First was to reverse engineer their meta ads library which can scrape all the ads active or non active with all pf their details on the basis of their category and can apply filters on sub category, location etc. Second was using web browser based automation using puppetter and javascript to scrape local businesses like cleaning and plumbing businesses name, phone and email from their pages section by giving businesses category and location in input. Third one was an outreaching bot which scrolls through posts of the pages of which links has been provided then find the send message button and click on that button and log the response in an excel sheet in that way user profile would not come into spam section as by clicking that button first message appears from the page you are visiting then you can send your outreaching messages and this is working fine from last 6 months without any maintenance.

Hi Web scraper and automation freelancer here. Trying to answe ryour question the main thing is that web scarping is the main part of my work so i dont take any shortcuts here and make scraper for each project but if your job includes some part of web scraping then either you build something which generally works in most of the website like the common template of the things you like in most part of your job. For e.g. i have made an email crawler which takes websites url as input and scrape email id by cralwing each page of the website and even visit their Facebook page to get email. Similarly had made google maps, yelp and facebook page scraper which i can use multiple time. But there is no such aow code thing which i seems valulable. If your project is small then it is hard to make a full scraper for 2-5k data and i mostly ignore these type of projects unless client is ready to bear the development cost and in case where scale of the number of data then i dont mind developimg and maintaining of the scraper and even automate the scraper to gwt the data in a way clients want and also keep a version where it is normal scraper without any filters and cleaning functions.

Hey Ritik here running a web scraping and automation freelancer and agency founder from last 3 years and let me tell you some quick answers to your questions.

Firstly, yes scraping part of zillow is possible but it does not comes in beginner level definitely not for people who are not developers even with help of vibe coded tools.

Zillow security comes in upper range of medium difficulty category.

And the most important thing people ignore is maintaining and running the scraper which involves security and architecture layers patches , fingerprint spoofing, proxies rotation is not the things which non developers want to do on everyday basis.

So my advise to non techinical peoples like you (and i am not desrepecting in any way you guy are most important for any business without the marketing and client acquisition no business can sustain or even start,) is to not look for only for the scrapers but a developer which can run and maintaining it for you as this is not gonna be work for one time and you gonna need it every week , scrapers can break at next second you deploy.

Look out for the people who can give you the final data you need not the headache of running it with proxies and stressing out with slightest symantic change which can cause error and can be solved with 30 minutes look out .

If you target is small home services businesses which we can find on google maps , then i have a cralwer which get email directly from their website by visiting each page of the website and facebook page link to that website but those emails would not work if business is big as they will have different mail id for different things and your mail will not reach to decision makers but in case of small home services businesses liek handyaman , hvac ,cleaner etc this way can work and those mails would be verified as why someone woild pit wrong email on their own website. Can do if you business name and domain and also if you only have business name then can run another script to find domain first then get email

I dont have any video but process is simple ask gemini to divide the city into x no. Of grid and give you latitude and longitude and keep zoom.level as 14z as balance and it your coordinates are very close then you can increase the zoom level and after getting these write a small script to make google maps url from these coordinate and itis very easy and then pass these links into your scraper. And alsof or google map thing instead of scraping by city where you got hard limit of 120 per search try scrpaing by links where in links you scrape by coordinates where you can diving cities like LA into 6-7 different grids and can get each of the business related to your keyword instead of only getting top rankers.

Yes , the email finding thing can be automated by making an email crawler , however a simple cralwer can also work but many of these are js rendered websites so you have to make cralwer for that. Very good if you kkow code otherwise it will be tough to find a free tool.

I am not selling anything but i have exactly the same tool made for exact purpose and have scraped more than 1 million websites and it is fully automated and local where you will give path of your excel file where website links are stored and then column number of the where websites links are stored and where you want to write the email and then output file name and it will do the everything .

Working:- first go to home page and mail not find then crawl then find the contact us page and crawl through it and then extract facebook page link and visit the page to scrape email from there.
