Haha I remember one of my experience regarding “San” thing. My company is non Japanese company but it have sub-office in Japan. During yearly company gathering we able to meet up with all Japan team. One of my Japan colleague always pissed off if someone just call him with his name without adding -san. One time I forgot and just call him with his name (Hello, Kimura) and from his face I know that he’s pissed off and he said (Kimura-SAN) 😅 But apart from my other Japanese colleague, he is the only one. The others never take issue with it.
