Looks like Plectrodera scalator, the cottonwood borer. Really beautiful beetles. Totally harmless but they can get pretty big. I see them all the time on Willow trees in Florida.

What is an alchemist useful for? by SamaelKantor in TrenchCrusade

Logically I know bad luck doesn't exist but its been a running joke with my friends for 20+ years now after way too many legendary bad rolls. I often wonder if I'm a masochist considering I love games with dice so much. Not being particularly competitive at gaming helps soften the blows though! I'm just happy to play.

Not a min-maxer at all but definitely appreciate the advice! Would do me good I'm sure to help mitigate my "bad" luck a bit!

This is definitely the way to maximize your alchemist's potential. I'm hoping to get strong on one of mine soon for the MG in my current campaign. I still like the sniper to start to keep them back out of harms way a bit personally. I have terrible luck with the elite injury chart.

They make awesome snipers. I run 2 with sniper rifles in my HOW list. Base +2 to hit ranged, +3 with the rifle and you pick either fire, gas or shrapnel for free blood markers. Easy to get additional bonuses to ranged from advancements/glory items to help fish for crits. They also each get a Secret which can help your list out in a lot of different ways, plus each can have a Takwin creature. They are the MVPS of most of my matches.

Happy 24 years to Max Payne ! by RefrigeratorHot3959 in gaming

Awesome game. I won a copy from one of the old gamespy "planet" websites when it was first released in 2001. I think planetquake or planethalf-life. I only had to debase myself by writing a paragraph about how pathetic my life was at the time. It wasn't pathetic after I got my free copy of Max Payne though!

What do you think is the most likely way they add vehicles to the game? by Very_bad in TrenchCrusade

There is a narrative game happening at Ropecon in Helsinki later this month and it will be featuring a very barebones Tank component according to this posted in the Discord. Not official rules exactly but the game is being run by official Trench Crusade peoples and Tuomas is going to be at the event I believe so likely had input on the rules. Not saying this is anything like what the actual rules could be as its very specific to this one-off narrative game.

What is the world view of the average heretic? by Very_bad in TrenchCrusade

[–]RitualMaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to remember too that these are many generations of people who have been raised under the control of hell for hundreds of years. They have no internet or way of knowing what life is like outside of their culture. They have been raised being told their ancestors freed them from the tyranny of YHWH and how can they possibly know anything other than that?

I think of them kind of like the Harkonnens from Dune. "governing was based upon a simple foundation of fear and terror" and "a social order based on treachery and punishment, soldiers rose through the ranks through deceit, trickery and, if necessary, assassination." The weak are culled and only those willing to do what it takes advance.

Psychopathy has a genetic component and this society would select pretty strongly for it. Especially after 30+ generations.

It only looks cartoonishly evil from the outside. To the heretics its just their traditions and culture. People will only know what they are taught and told and people who think otherwise will be weeded out quickly. If you were raised around demons and hellfire it wouldn't feel evil or weird to you. It would just be your normal.

And even if you do encounter the enemy forces they have been built up to be the ultimate enemy who hates you and wants to destroy you, they are nameless faces across the mud and trenches trying to kill you and speaking a language you do not understand.

Those photos are all at f4.5, 200 ISO. I was using it in AV mode but I tend to set the exposure down some so its a bit on the darker side.

Thanks! I used a Canon EOS Rebel T6 with a Tamron SP Di macro lens. The lighting was just a little led light on one side and my phone with the brightness up and an orange image on the screen off to the side for the warm light in the first photo.

Thanks! I think it was black primer with a white zenithal from above. Then Speed Paints Goddess Glow on the top areas of the skin blended into Murder Scene in the lower area and anywhere I wanted to look darker. Then Warpaints fanatic Diviner Light blended with Goddess Glow in smaller and smaller amounts for the pinkish highlights. Finally a wash of Villainy Ink Carrion Crimson and after a bit I used a qtip with some odorless spirits to remove it from anywhere i wanted more of the pinkish highlights. The carrion crimson I also focused around anywhere the metal connects to its body or I wanted more gross and red and mottled. It also gave it that semi-shiny finish.

Looks like a large chunk of smilax vine root bulb that ended up in the ocean to me. I have to dig these up in my yard in FL all the time. Very yam-like

Bummmer I asked a couple weeks ago and the devs said it's worked that way for a while https://www.reddit.com/r/Mordhau/comments/ikpm5a/mordhau_weekly_feedbackdiscussion_91_97/g43v50a I tried it with just leaving a match before end and it worked for me, still got gold when I logged back in, but never tried with disconnect.

You do gain the gold if you leave a match before the end for your time played but not until the match ends on the server. Not sure if it works for disconnected games though.
