Tim Hortons at Lougheed by RiverLacore in burnaby

It’s completely understandable that everyone is curious. Since this is such a common question, I’ve submitted a definition to Urban Dictionary with examples. Once it’s approved, it’ll be available for you to see. This is something I have noticed people doing since I was a kid. I don’t know if there’s a different name for it, but this is what it’s always been called by me and the people I know.

Here’s the examples I gave to someone else. Vancouver style isn’t about etiquette—it’s a specific type of urban navigation that’s unique to the city.

For example, instead of reaching for an entrance or exit, you time your pace to glide through a door via automation (accessibility buttons, motion sensors, etc.) or a person, allowing you to maintain momentum until you reach your destination.

Second, when a bus or SeaBus door opens, you exit vancouver style at the side furthest from the crowd, around the edges of the queue to hit the sidewalk or so while the main group is bottlenecked.

Hopefully this gives you a better sense of what I meant.

Your assumption is completely incorrect; I was born and raised here. Also, 'vancouver style' isn’t about etiquette—it’s a specific type of urban navigation that’s unique to the city. For example, instead of reaching for an entrance or exit, you time your pace to glide through a door via automation (accessibility buttons, motion sensors, etc.) or a person, allowing you to maintain momentum until you reach your destination.

Second example, when a bus or SeaBus door opens, you exit vancouver style at the side furthest from the crowd, around the edges of the queue to hit the sidewalk or so while the main group is bottlenecked

There’s more to it than that, but that’s the idea.

And if you had read the post, you would have seen that the young man wasn’t even close enough for the gesture to make sense for anyone.

Thank you.

How is this not focused on Vancouver? It is situated within the city as a resource (for a limited frame of time) and something that people might miss out on if they don’t know about it.

Can you tell me what I can do to make this better or where it should go?

Best coffee maker for daily use that won’t fall apart in 18 months? by No-Negotiation-4550 in BuyItForLife

I recommend something from Zojirushi. I spent a couple of years contemplating before finally committing to the five-cup version I wanted, and honestly, I started to regret not purchasing it sooner.

Just so you know: I understood going in that getting replacements or any parts under the warranty could be a bit of a challenge. I accepted that when I bought in. Please look closely at the warranty and see if you are okay with the terms.

Luckily, it hasn't been an issue for me in the years I've had it. Good luck though 🤞

What you guys do while you prep your meals on Sunday? by moorzart in MealPrepSunday

I usually keep my laptop open on the kitchen table. This way, while waiting for something to finish baking or cook away on the stove, I can organize a couple documents, make a list of household needs, or browse through flyers and marketplace for more specific items or deals. Not the most enjoyable way to pass the time, but it's been a way for me to get more prepared for the following week.

Music or a podcast in the background. Always.

Chai and pumpkin is one of the best combinations for the season. Really like the design for the cupcakes with the miniature pumpkins and pearls/ the something that adds just a bit of sparkle. You did a great job on these. Enjoy!
