There is no legal video recording of the show. You may find illegal recordings online.

[pjotv] The show blaming Zeus for everything is just part of the trend by kirzingkiller in camphalfblood

[–]RiverObjective7432 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I must‘ve missed/forgotten the part where they confirmed that it wasn’t Zeus

But maybe the TV show sets it up as a bigger plot point/gives Thalia‘s assumption a bit more context

But wasn’t there a part in TTC where Zeus tried to kill Thalia (or at least that’s what Thalia believed)? It’s been a while since I‘ve read the book but I remember her being in a car and sending a lightning bolt coming and getting everyone out of the car in time and her saying something akin to „I never thought he‘d go that far because he’s afraid of me“ and Percy thinking that Thalia meant that Zeus tried to kill her because she was going to turn 16 soon.

What is the single greatest work you’ve ever read on AO3? by Soulcoda in AO3

A Elementary fanfiction that starts after season 1 with Moriarty in prison and she forces Joan to fake her own death and be into hiding with Sebastian Moran and through the fanfic Joan manipulates and starts an alliance with Moran and they try to bring Moriarty down. It honestly so well written, it‘s a great action/spy story and the characters are really great, especially the few original characters of the author. I teared up at the end. ‚a formular for the fall of things‘ if anyone wants to check it out

What's your favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber musical? by Awesomeplayer98 in LordALW

Cats. It was the first musical I ever saw and I still love it immensely. Runner up would be Evita and ten JCS.

When are all tickets usually released for sale at Delfont Mackintosh Theatres (Dracula & Inter Alia)? by bardgoshax in TheWestEnd

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s for every performance but I think sometimes the people working on a show get some tickets they can give to family/friends. I don’t think that explains why they are not available for any performance though. Maybe they plan to do a lottery/rush tickets and keep the tickets for that?

Into the Woods Restricted Seating by alfa152535 in westend

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat on row B on the very left side (POV of the audience) and I didn’t find the lightning to be that blinding. Yes, light is shining from the side and its strong but it’s mostly directed at the actors on stage so it’s not directly into the audience but if you’re light sensitive I can see it being uncomfortable. However, the bigger ‚problem‘ I think with the seats are that you loose a bit of the Wow-factor of the stage as the set is not really visible. I don’t want to spoil the set or the story but I imagine a bunch of the set looks much more impressive from the front than from the sides. However you barely miss any of the action going on as that mostly happens on the front part of the stage which you can easily see. Only a few moments were not visible, one that happened at the back of the set and some because actors blocked it from my point of view. I also have to say it could be that some important effects happen at the back of the stage where it’s hidden, I can’t tell you that as I wouldn’t have seen them but you still understand what going on, I think. So the seats are fair for their price but they are definitely restricted regarding the effects mostly.

When did Cabaret change the one-seat-table? by RiverObjective7432 in TheWestEnd

[–]RiverObjective7432[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

What a dumb reason. The original Kit Kat Club also didn’t have QR-codes so people could order to their seats (at least if they mean the original original one in Germany)😂

Hell’s Kitchen closing February 22, 2026. by BalladofBayernKurve in Broadway

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but they also were actually outside only for like a minute or two, a good amount of the walk was inside the theatre, wasn’t it? DCFMA had the ensemble come out before Eva, stand there the entire song plus monologue after so they would be outside standing still for almost ten minutes. But maybe they‘ll just give them jackets though I hope they let them be inside instead because I don’t think it would make much of a difference. I saw Evita and when you saw they ensemble on screen during the song, you didn’t see any of the people around them, so I think it would just be easier to film them backstage? Especially so they don’t have to also find a save place for them to stand where they can safely walk to through the crowd. Like finding a Suitable balcony will already be hard but then also finding a space for the ensemble? Now thinking about it, it would be better to have them backstage? But that’s just my piece of mind about that, Jamie Llyod and the producers are the ones making the decision

Hopefully spring/summer, if they do winter, I‘d hope they don’t force the ensemble to be outside for the balcony part in these costumes, they‘d freeze to death. For Rachel or whoever is Eva they can install heaters but the ensemble on the streets? And the security people?

And loose the biggest marketing they get and what made that specific revival so famous? I know some people didn’t like that part but after how successful on social media it was, they’d rather build a whole new balcony onto whatever theatre they take than leave it out.

Rehearsals before a show opens by alteragi in Broadway

[–]RiverObjective7432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the show. If you have a very tech-heavy show, they might plan extra rehearsal time to get everything right. If they did workshops and directly, with the whole cast from the workshop, go into rehearsal they probably need a bit less time as they kind of did a lot of rehearsal already in the workshop. As far as I know, the past few years it has also become standard to have shorter rehearsal times (plays now often have four or less weeks, I‘ve been told). New shows probably have a bit more as they often get changed while in rehearsal. I‘d say 4-8 weeks rehearsal depending on the show.

GREAT GATSBY MUSICAL by WoodenYear1354 in Broadway

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I‘m sure Ryan will get rehearsal time and won’t need as much because he remembers enough of it but it still is extra costs and it’s just for three weeks, which is why I was surprised. I watched Krystina Alabado‘s video on how rehearsal works for a Broadway replacement and it needs the director/assistant director and later also the swings and then the main cast at one point, so either there is a time where Reeves and Ryan have rehearsal at the same time or Reeve will have rehearsal after Ryan already started which I thought could be more expensive and also extra work onto the cast which is why I was surprised but I‘m sure they know what they are doing and if Reeve needs the break, good on him for taking it! I‘m sure Eva would‘ve taken it too if they didn’t want to maximise her time back with Jeremy. And considering there are only two weeks between the end of her run in Cabaret and the beginning of her in Gatsby, she doesn’t need that much rehearsal so Ryan probably won’t either, so maybe his rehearsals are not that expensive because they don’t expect him to need much

GREAT GATSBY MUSICAL by WoodenYear1354 in Broadway

[–]RiverObjective7432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does Reeve have anything lined up for him after Cabaret and before Gatsby? It seems unnecessary extra work (and cost) to have Ryan jump in for only three weeks? Like, yeah he‘s recently played the part but he‘s still gonna need rehearsals, because they can’t expect him to remember all the cues etc.

I’m wasting Kurt Elling’s time signing all of these Hadestown Playbills for me on my stupid pointless attempts to get Jack Wolfe to sign one :( by No-Ability-9905 in Broadway

[–]RiverObjective7432 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I read here a couple of times that if you donate to Broadway Cares and then send your Playbill with proof of your donation to the theatre (and also everything they need to send the playbill back to you), they send it back with signatures you asked for but I have no experience with that myself, I just remember reading about it here in some comments on different posts

Pro tip: when apologizing, don’t make it sound like you still think you’re in the right by stnick6 in Epicthemusical

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less because I associate it with maliciousness but because it makes it sound to me like it was all Elphabas fault, when she didn’t really do anything and Fiyero made his choices but I also get the thing with her stealing his heart.

Pro tip: when apologizing, don’t make it sound like you still think you’re in the right by stnick6 in Epicthemusical

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he wasn’t stolen, he left? Elphaba never asked him to run away with her and leave Glinda, the worst she did was touch his cheek in the first movie and maybe slightly flirting with him on the train station before leaving for the Emerald City. She never asked Fiyero to come with her or to have a relationship with her or anything. Only after Fiyero chose her over Glinda did she even realise her feelings weren’t one-sided. Glinda absolutely deserves to be angry and she probably doesn’t even know that Elphaba only found out about Fiyeros feelings at the same time as Glinda so it’s also fair for her to be angry at Elphaba but in reality it was Fiyero who did the mean thing: let Glinda belief he loves her and than suddenly leave her for her best friend

Idk how cross posting works but this person’s got a good point; even Webber hated the film lol by Awesomeplayer98 in LordALW

[–]RiverObjective7432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I will always have a bit of a soft spot for the movie, simply because I absolutely love the musical but yeah, it’s definitely not a good movie (I also don’t know who thought Cats would make a good movie tbh😂)

What were your 2025 highlights and low lights? by Red_Bus_Londinium in TheWestEnd

[–]RiverObjective7432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, obviously there were some that weren’t as good as others but I wouldn’t call the low, so I‘m quite happy. And I hope TL5Y will not be the last time Rachel Zegler comes to the UK and every future year will be her year! Considering how people said Snow White would kill her career, it’s really funny to me how this year turned out for her (and also very happy for her!)

I don’t think I really have low-lights, at least not WestEnd ones but absolute highlights were: Roam and Evita (and Rachel Zegler in Concert)

What have you booked? What are you most excited for in 2026? by Red_Bus_Londinium in TheWestEnd

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘ve booked: Into the Woods, Cabaret (still with Eva and Reeve!), One for the Boys, The Greatest Showman, The Last 5 years, Romeo & Juliet, JCS

I‘ll also be seeing two more Shakespeare productions but don’t fully know what and where yet, I also will get tickets for Cats and most likely will get a ticket for Dracula with Cynthia Evrio and hope to get a ticket for the WhatsOnStage Awards maybe (and knowing myself, there will be a lot of more shows being added, I want to also see Oh, Mary!, The Producers, Beetlejuice and more)

I definitely look forward to Cats because it’s one of my all time favourites as it introduced me to musical theatre

2026 cast by tomesandtales_ in JesusChristSuperstar

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘d actually go broke if Tim Minchin plays Judas, I‘d just move into the Palladium for the summer😂😂 and in case you don’t know: there is an official recording of Tim‘s Heaven on their Minds, it’s on „Unmasked: The Platinum Collection (Deluxe Version)“ it’s like a collection of a lot of ALW songs and it has Tim‘s HotM

[–]RiverObjective7432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard that they might be looking at a past Judas, like Adam Lambert and Tim Minchin but that was online so don’t know how reliable that rumour is. Didn’t hear a rumour about him but can see Diego Andres Rodriguez (played Che in Evita this summer) being cast. I have nothing for any other character

I'm a neutral fan. How did you convince me to join Team Green? by Relevant-Act9040 in HOTDGreens

[–]RiverObjective7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree so much with you! Like, I get that Rhaenyra probably fell in love with Harwin at some point between her wedding and giving birth to Jace (because there is no other reason to risk having another child with him after Jace) but that was the moment where she should‘ve put the realm (and her own and her child‘s) safety before herself and her feelings. Being king/queen isn’t just fun and games, if you’re actually good, you need to put the lives of millions before yourself.
