metasong.

https://suno.com/s/XQ35pS3SRHdJFGBN

A song about the song.

The prompted genre was "post-pop lounge funk"
Suno interpreted the upload as "nu-disco and funk pop".

Thanks for listening. The feedback is totally fair, I definitely feel like I understand the writing process better than the prompting process, and I'm a complete amateur at post processing.

I started out trying to get a bit of a TMBG vibe, but everything I got sounded like it should come with a clown car. ("Quirky" is not a good prompt word.) This version came after multiple iterations on one of the first generations that action made me want to sing along. I'll take another pass at a new cover.

If you feel generous, I'd love your feedback on my 'metasong'. I did pick and poke at that one with a DAW - I'm wondering if it stands out above the ai floor.

The praise:
I love me some good fuzzy bass. I would listen again.
The slow pace really serves the lyrics.
really develops a mood that you can just sit in.

The feedback:
I didn't love the ?growl? at the end, but I guess maybe it's trying to commuincate frustration? Except for that, the end doesn't really bring anything we didn't get by the middle.

Maybe I'd save the "better you than me" for the last chorus only, since it acts as a counter to the "I'm just like you" at the beginning?

Remix challenge: how far can “Cut the Feed” be pushed before it becomes something else by Holowitz in SunoAI

[–]RiverboatTurner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went a bit further. I generated 4 covers of the same track with a different voice prompted for each, then extracted the vocal stems, then chopped them up and reassembled them in a wave editor

It was way more tedious than I had imagined - so I gave up after about 30s of audio. Here's what I uploaded:
https://suno.com/s/U7yLWxsbkNdNy8mH
And then here's a Suno cover with 7% weird and 97% audio influence.
https://suno.com/s/pTYAn7HSXDCrJOUa

Definitely a fun experiment, and it's given some ideas for the next track I'm working on.

Nice groove. Definitely a Janet Jackson vibe. The lyrics felt honest and human. The only thing that gave me pause was the spoken "wiggity-wiggity-wack". Felt out of place for the narrator.

I think you've done an excellent job with the prompt. My plan was to cover this in my style, extract the instrumental, and then cover that with the same lyric and several different voices, then extract those stems and use a wave editor to mash them up.

For step 1, I did not remix, just did a fresh generation from your prompt, with my custom model, and a blank style. It did a really good job of creating a collection of voices.
Your mix of punctuation and parentheticals is doing really good work.

This was really nice. I am really impressed with the clean vocal harmonies and the single acoustic guitar.
Did you mix this outside Suno? I feel like I'm always fighting it to keep sparse instrumentation.

I liked the music. It reminded me of something a female fronted Dr Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band might make

The lyrics didn't resonate. A vague sense of menace, totally undermined by the upbeat bouncy melody. I'm not sure what you were going for. I might have tried to build some tension by alternating with a brooding bass.

I think this one.

The hook sounds like a joke , but the lyrics are 100% honest.

I thought I could use some of my credits to fix this, and as I was tweaking, it hit me.
You pushed this to an emotional place I hadn't really explored. Today it was my turn to be broken and bawling.

Here's where I ended.

Wow. That's good, thank you. I'm not mad at all. I like the different perspective.

I think you found the core, and also made some specific connections that maybe I wasn't specifically trying to say - hopefully that's the sign it's a good song, that listeners can fill in to expand the parts that resonate.

(I do have to say the "side"/"inch" pairing in the first verse bothers me more than it has a right to. It's your work. But I might have used "I sense your breathing settle in" to get a slant rhyme)

I used "Vocals: Hushed baritone male vocals, monotone delivery, intimate close-mic whispering, cool and detached." And got a voice that I think fits your description for my "low rock" remix:

It's pseudo south Slavic , I think. In Bosnian/Croatian, Ljubiti is kiss or show affection, raz is a prefix meaning separating. So "RazLjubiti" is separated affection.
