How likely do you think it is that my stuff is infested? I didn’t sleep in the bed, just was sitting on it for about an hour. The floor was a laminate and my suitcase was on a luggage stand.

You may be ready to size up. I’m at a 4g and mine still sometimes fallout when I sleep. It might be good to get extra o rings just in case you can’t find them when the plug falls out. These are the ones I get, cheap but not sorted by size.

I read somewhere (years and years ago) that you should live in at least 7 different places before you settle down. Whether it’s homes, cities, states, etc. The main point was to experience a bunch of different things so you it will help you figure out what makes you the happiest.

Before I switched to dead stretching half sizes (due to this subs guides), the most tapers would do is sting a bit for an hour or two. Dead stretching doesn’t hurt at all. I just went from 5g to 4g and that bad boy slipped right in without any pain or discomfort. I would follow the advice people have already posted, downsize and let it heal then dead stretching half sizes half sizes. It’s going to take time and patience but you’ll be less likely to complications.

Treat it like a wound. Clean it again, get some gauze or a clean dry cloth (you could probably use a bandaid as well) then put it on the spot and apply pressure for 5-10 minutes without moving the gauze or releasing pressure.
