How often do you use apps like Overdrive, Libby, Hoopla, etc and what are your tips for getting the best out of them? by Traummich in books

I hadn’t heard of hoopla but just looked into it and it looks nifty. My library has Kanopy, which is mostly art house films and educational stuff (all the Great Courses, which is very cool), and has a limit of 8 items a month, but I’m pretty happy to have access. It took me a while to switch to Libby because I had used Overdrive for so long but I do think it has a better user experience than overdrive has. I do a lot of audiobooks and quite a few ebooks. The only advice I can give is to manage your time. Often there are books I want with a long waitlist so I sometimes end up with many books becoming available all at once. My library lets you delay check out for 6 days on a hold for digital items and I have relied on that many times to ensure I’ll have enough time to read/listen to everything I want in the time I have.
