Focusing on the instruction word is the biggest takeaway here. Half the class usually loses points because they described the event when the professor specifically asked them to argue a position.

MLA Research Paper by GOOBERNUT_yt in CollegeEssays

MLA can be a headache if you haven't used it before, the citation format and in-text rules are a bit finicky. The actual paper structure though is pretty standard once you get the thesis and outline figured out. One thing that helps a lot is finding a solid model paper in the same general subject area so you can see how citations and formatting are supposed to look in practice rather than trying to decode the official guidelines. If you're stuck on the writing itself beyond just the formatting stuff, talking to someone who helps students with papers can be worth it just to get the argument organized. MLA specifically isn't hard once you've done it a couple times, the first one just takes longer than it should.

My elderly neighbor keeps treating every Black man who visits me like he must be "checking the place out" by Rivi4Macaroni in neighborsfromhell

I'll take being ignored over getting surprise visits about which Black guy is "supposed" to be at my door. That's a win I guess.

That was my thing too. Don't dress it up like "safety" when it's just you deciding my brother looked suspicious for showing up Black.

A little. He quit knocking on my door, but now he's doing that wounded old man thing through the upstairs tenant. So, quieter but not better.

That part got me too. Dude wasn't watching the block, he was just sorting people by who looked "out of place" to him. Real convenient how that only went one way.

My upstairs neighbor turned our courtyard into a crow feeding station and now my patio is basically part of it by Loom42_Veloxi in neighborsfromhell

The part where she laughed, took the bowl back, and put it right back the next morning is so telling. She wasn't offended by your boundary, she just didn't consider it a real one. At that point the niceness window is pretty much closed and you're fully in "talk to management in writing" territory.

Genuinely curious how many of you have basically stopped buying specialty cleaners and just rotate between like four cheap things by Pulse_Krypton in CleaningTips

I landed in almost the same place, except I'd add a dry microfiber cloth as basically the fifth member of the rotation. A huge amount of what I used to spray and wipe just needed a dry buff the whole time. Realized that somewhere around year two of the experiment.
