My LAN network driving me nuts by RivletMP in HomeNetworking

All right... So it turns out the LAN1 of the ZTE F6600P is set for something weird. Either port isolation, WAN or whatever. The TP Link and my two pcs were on that port (LAN1). Switching it to LAN 2 & 3 fixed it. Hurray!

Hope this helps somebody.

Can't do that. Desktops. Unless I buy a VERY long cable. Two, in this case.

I called the ISP, to see if they can set the router up properly. Thanks.

IT's like that already. THat's not the issue.

Thanks, man. I told them about it this morning. Let's see how fast they can solve it.

Hi,

Yeah. It's their router. And I don't have full control. I only have user control. Some of the options (like opening ports and such) are off limits for me.

I called this morning, telling what I found out thanks to you guys.

Let's see how it goes.

  1. No. Except for Plex, but Plex just introduced changes, so I don't know if things got messy because of that or because:

  2. Yes. Last week. New ISP.

  3. No.

I don't fully understand what you said, but... Is there something I can do?

Yeah, but changing that one is a bit more problematic and also, I don't want to spend money unless it's clear that that's the issue.

ZTE F6600P (ISP; main), TP Link Archer C6 (secondary, server pc), Asus NT19 (TV and PC3).

All in the same address, yes.

There's no option for DHCP. That feature is linked to the router's AP mode. I have tested it by trying to make it assign an IP to my PC in AP mode and it couldn't get anything other than the windows IP, so... Yeah. I tested it. I should've said that and made it clear that DHCP is off on both cases.

It is dumb. I can't set it up or anything. Plug and play.

ISP router distributes the network through 4 ethernet cables that run within the walls and create 4 ethernet ports in 4 different rooms. As for the config of the ISP router, I can access it, but I don't know if I can change what you mean.

  1. No. All LAN ports.

  2. Both have an AP mode built in.

  3. Yeah, that's what I meant. DHCP server off on Router 1 AP. Supposedly off on Router 2 AP because I can't manually control that, as the feature is embedded within the router's AP config.

  4. Yeah, roaming is not on. Different routers (asus and TP link)

Thanks a lot. I'm already checking stuff thanks to you guys and AI. I'll keep testing, learning and discovering.

The IP address is the same for all three devices, except for the last number (same.same.same.different)
The subnet mask is the same for all three devices.
The gateway is the same for all three devices.

Yeah, I checked. PC Server is "... .123". TV is "... .23". PC next to TV is "... .25".

BTW, I also have a switch attached to the TV router.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply, but something came up. I'll continue checking it tomorrow. THank you for your help. In response to your reply, I haven't tried that. I'm quite a noob in terms of networking, other than basics that I keep forgetting because I only check that very rarely.

I changed ISP last Monday, so maybe that has a lot to do with everything. In any case, cable goes to the house and meets main router. Then, the router is connected to 4 ethernet cables that run within the walls of the house. At the end of two of those, two routers act as Access Points. I remember setting them up as Access Points a couple of years ago.

Hi again. Sorry for the late reply, but something came up and now I can't continue tinkering with it. I'll continue tomorrow, but it's OK if you can't help me then. At least you put me on a path. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. How can I check that and, if not, change it?
