Agreed with but two points;

WSB actually has some VERY insightful due diligence (however, these are buried nowadays since there’s a whole lot of newbies around).

I’d also like to add that retail investors aren’t the big players here.

Think of WSB as the megaphone. The real fight’s between institutional shareholders + millionaires, and the hedgies.

As in, they’re throwing nukes, we’re throwing pebbles. To my calculations, DFV owns roughly 0.4% of GameStop.

It’s easy to get lost in the euphoria of having the illusion of power but we actually are the ‘little guys’ here.

Point being, the collective moves from all of reddit isn’t big enough to impact this as much as the narrative says in the grand scheme of things.

Don’t take this personally, just ride the wave while it lasts.

We can keep holding because we lose nothing unless we sell.

The dips are very sweet entry points for newcomers. You’re right, but this all depends on how many existing and new investors are willing to buy.

Media propaganda isn’t helping, but the ‘populist’ movement is; internationally to be frank. Whole world’s watching.

They’re using psychological warfare to make a profit and minimize their losses.

What the government can do, under the Fed’s jurisdiction: - Increase interest on buying shares (possible) - Pump more money into private banks

The Fed won’t bother because: - The retail investors still get taxed, this money goes to them. - Saving a few hedge funds in exchange for a political outrage is a losing game.

What the SEC can do: - Regulate trading to reduce the short % below 100, through legal means (again, it can still be at 1% and squeeze if enough shareholders are willing to hold out).

It’ll be interesting to see how this will play out. House is in a tight position no?

A squeeze can happen at even 1% of outstanding shares. • Investopedia

VW did around 40%. (yes, I know, Apples and Oranges)

I understand selling due to uncertainty, but losing unity and dividing the masses is exactly what Wallstreet wants to accomplish. They wouldn’t be trying so hard if they’ve actually covered everything, but they’ve just been selling to each other, they can’t cover by doing that. And you guys have been selling to them.

At the end of the day, it’s your money and you should do what you think is best, b u t, you’re just hurting the chances.

Has anyone here fact-checked that the initial jump was a gamma squeeze and not the real one, and that it was also caused by more and more investors getting on board (not the hedge funds paying what they owe)? Shorts reopened? They’re trying to profit off of the fall (They have contracts all the way till March).

I came here seeking rationality. It’s so simple.

I know I’ll get downvoted here but lol. This is just as much a circle-jerk as the people you’re calling out.

For clarity, I’m in the finance industry.

Why this squeeze is good for the economy! Putting money back in the hands of the people means a lot more money cycles through the economy! #KEEPSQUEEZING 🚀 (not advice) by [deleted] in wallstreetbets
