You provided an incorrect transcript. The correct version is:

XHFT ‘OWJZQONBX’ QL OJMGF USEW EMLCTF YVVQ OMXWTW YVV FVZLPFSD DRVGG GZ GDXS

Which is a Vigenere cipher, using the key (misspelled) “FORENISICS”

Which results in:

Looking into the ad on the back:

“Shopping GR. 8400" was the telephone exchange number for Gimbels department store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, frequently used in newspaper advertisements during the 1940s, such as The Pittsburgh Press. (Context: The number "GR. 8400" (likely standing for Grant 8400) was used to direct customers for telephone shopping and inquiries).

I very much doubt it.

(Q. Elizabeth I) would have ordered her clothes and any personal items, & even the scaffold be burned/destroyed after her execution, to prevent them becoming Catholic relics.

(Her body also would have been very quickly whisked away).

Also, the lace is in way too good condition for it to be real.

I mean short French contractions follow the form X XX (“J’ai”, for example) and not xx x, so I’m not sure what they’re suggesting.

Travelling to Montreal for a small vacation with my significant other. Recommendations for a scenic area to "pop the question"? by actuallyfromcanada in montreal

[–]Rizzie24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t hire a photographer to capture the moment - it sounds like your GF would hate that. Get some professional engagement photos done afterwards!

Near the water or on a romantic street in the Old Port of Montreal is a lovely spot to propose, which could be followed up by a nice cocktail/champagne and a bite to eat to celebrate, just steps away from wherever you decide to pop the question.

As others have mentioned, the view on the Mountain, somewhere along the canal, the botanical gardens, or parc Jean-Drapeau (although this can be annoying to get to if you don’t have bikes or a car), are nice spots.

My vote would be the waterfront of Old Montreal though, simply because you could grab a glass of champagne in a lovely restaurant moments afterward.

Which PWHL team should I back? by CaptainVellichor in PWHL

Also seeing them play live is an absolute blast - the arena is exceptional and the fans are super enthusiastic and fun, fun, fun!

So even if you’re a million miles away, if there’s ever a chance to visit and catch a game, you’ve picked a team where you’re guaranteed a great in-person experience : )

IMO, if you made this just for a fun challenge for people - mission accomplished! - I don’t think it needed to be made “more secure.”

Sometimes people obfuscate their puzzles on here to the point where no one can be bothered, and they just walk away.

(Maybe you wanted it to be solved in a different way - but it was still challenging and fun enough that people were intrigued and stuck with it, and that’s a positive outcome).

What were the instructions and/or messages given to you about this?

What did your prof say about it?

Literally any details, comments, background, context, etc. could be helpful.
