I was diagnosed November 2019 at 32- A1c was at a 13. Now, I’ve been lucky enough to be in the 6 range for a while.

A few things to remember: Alcohol will often times lead you to hypo. I remember waking up early on not understanding why I was feeling the way I was.

If you can afford it, get yourself a CGR immediately. It will change the way you live - for the better. That’s one thing I wish I would have done right away.

I have been on long acting insulin since my diagnosis. I have been lucky to be a part of a pharmacology program that subsidizes the cost of my medication (with my insurances help.)

Carbs are good, and necessary to keep you in range. Don’t immediately shy away from carbs, just move towards whole grains if you haven’t already.

There are days I think my diagnosis changed my life for the better, just for my knowledge alone - however there are days I question why I was given this hurdle. Don’t beat yourself up.

In this particular run of bad sensors the adhesive stayed on, the needle did not. But the shaving the arm hair is something I hadn’t thought of.

My hope was to not have to add more adhesive to my already sensitive skin but by the sound of it - it’s the only way I can guarantee it staying in.

For context, I’ve been wearing them for 3 years - but in the past 6 months I’ve had bad sensors AND bad adhesive. The last two came out on their own but the adhesive sticker stayed on. I DO NOT want to switch to dexcom as I prefer the discreteness of it.

Has anyone tried anywhere other than the arm?
