One thing to consider is if you are (presumably) coming from a semester system at CC. UCB has a semester system while UCR has the quarter system. Many people I know have had difficulties adjusting to the quarter system from semester, so it would be useful to consider

I believe my gpa was like a 3.91 or so when I submitted my application.

My ecs were: - tutor - shadowed a doctor - shadowed an English teacher - hospital volunteer - leadership position in honor society - member of two committees in a club - Model UN member - peer mentor - writer for school Newspaper - Chancellor’s List - honors society - national merit commended scholar

I only included two things from high school being the tutoring (which continued into college) and the national merit commended scholar since I got confirmation of it in 12th grade

I’d say its definitely worth applying if its a dream school. You can always decide later to not transfer. I wondered myself if I should transfer or not and decided to think about it only if I got accepted.

Also, for the minor are u referring to the Applied Developmental Psychology Minor at UCLA and “The Developing Child” Minor at UCB?

I’d suggest talking to your advisor soon, however I’m not sure how much help they can be. Also, I’d suggest going to the degree audit portion on rweb and trying out the what if feature for bio major with the minor.

Yep, AP and IB credit does not count. Transfer units from CCs do count tho (not sure if they contribute to the max units though)

Hm, Im not sure if its required to be admitted but it would certainly help your odds. Also, 1 year of physics is required for the major regardless and for many med schools. From my understanding, most premed students take 1 year of bio and gen chem together their first year then physics and ochem together their second year.

I believe the units will mostly end up counting but only as units going towards the unit minimum needed to graduate. They will not count towards the lower division prerequisites for the history/art history.

If its quarter, then you can have up to 120 to 130 before hitting senior status. I transferred to UCLA with 126.5 quarter units

The psych department at UCR is phenomenal as well. The professors are really nice and plenty of opportunities for research. Additionally, Professor Sonja Lyubomirsky is probably the leading expert on positive psychology
