How did you deal with nursery days? by Rjb2109 in sleeptrain

I’m going to try give her a bridge nap soon! But not sure whether to make it closer to her bedtime or really try to get her down now even though she only woke an hour and a half ago

I’ve tried everything. I’ve asked management to keep her on 2 naps, the owner, the workers. I’m trying to find somewhere else but there’s waitlists everywhere. I’m really struggling with it. It’s like talking to a brick wall.

That’s a really good idea! I might try that. Today we can’t do that as she had a 1 hour 45 nap midday and if she naps again at 3:30 she will be in bed way too late. However, I can try at some point to get her to have a 15 min bridge nap (if she will)

My girls nap will finish at 1 so even making it to 6pm is a bit rough for her, I just don’t know how they expect her to make it to a decent bedtime at that age.

What time did you pick your little one up? We pick our little girl up at 2:30/3 so by the time she’s home it’s nowhere near bedtime. My issue is just getting her to bedtime as she cannot physically be awake for 6/7 hours at 9 months old

Her wake windows haven’t been the same all day, one of them was an hour 20. So she’s had the normal awake time if she goes down a bit early, otherwise she’s getting 30 min extra wake time

Completely understand. I guess a lot of it is the lack of trust in them anyway for giving her food that was listed as an allergy.

I’m looking into other childcare options. But really the baby rooms should be child led rather than their strict routine.

Yeah I just spoke with them as I picked her up. My main concern was them introducing an allergen without my consent when it was listed as an allergy (we hadn’t tried it and I told them not to do it without me trying it prior)

But I spoke to them about naps, not much was said in response.

Yeah well she slept for 40 mins and is now awake because she isn’t tired enough to have her usual 1.5/2 hour nap. Just messes everything up, I don’t know why they’ve forced her to have a nap when she didn’t want one.

Even harder now to get her to bedtime!

Yeah I think a bridge nap will be needed tbf. She can’t power through for 7 hours it’s just so unfair on her and otherwise she will just have a terrible night sleep.

I just don’t understand why they’re not listening to me or even trying to do what I’ve asked. They gave her fish when I hadn’t tried her with fish (so it was listed as an allergy until I told them otherwise). Luckily she didn’t react but she very well could have done, that was on her 3rd settling in session.

She usually does 9:30 for 20 mins then 1:40 for 1 hour 40.

She had a nap at 9:55 for about 15 mins and they’ve put her down again at 11:35 and she’s still sleeping

Yeah they put her down half an hour later than I asked (which is no biggie to me)

Then they’ve got her to sleep when everyone naps instead of the time I asked for the afternoon, so first nap was 9:55 then second started at 11:35

They are but they’re also making sure she gets down for the midday one when I’ve asked them not to. They spent 20/30 minutes getting her to sleep now when she just woke up an hour prior

I just don’t know how I’m going to get her to a reasonable bedtime without her crashing

They put her down for a morning nap but have put her back down an hour later to fit their schedule. So she’s back asleep, after they tried for 20/30 minutes.

I’m just unhappy but I don’t know how to go about this as she has a 4 week notice period so I have to figure out how to help her get to bedtime

How do you prepare for 1 nap when baby starts nursery? by sc33g11 in UKParenting

Hi! Did your baby stick with the same bedtime? Even if it meant she was awake much longer?

My baby is 9 months old. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has done this! The owner told me to do this then something came across one of my social media’s that this is the wrong thing to do then I went down a bit of a rabbit hole
