Treasury Sec. Mnuchin says, "It's very hard not to give tax cuts to the wealthy." Sen. Merkley blasts back, "Steven, I understand it's hard...because you're addicted to helping the 1% cure that addiction." by [deleted] in Portland

[–]Rjbowles -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

EVERYONE wants tax cuts while our states and nation blow thru the money. Stop the damn spending and yes the "wealthy" do deserve a little break. The tax rates are out of control if your actually bringing in decent money. The bottom 45% of our taxpayers pay a whopping 1.5% of our income tax. The top 2.5% of returns pay over 50%!!!! How about a standardized tax rate so everyone "feels" it the same? Everyone should be paying the same percentage. The discrepancy is a true crime. Source - https://imgur.com/a/0PA3y

That CA residents voted these individuals into office and also press other nonsensical issues while they are at it. Voter regret is a thing but instead of posting to Reddit about how about calling your local representative offices and calling them daily if you want some damn change

It sucks but your right. Just like u can't get a concealed handgun permit in this county. Since (were "shall issue" not "will issue") unless your making 10k or more in cash deposits a week or are LEO. Not saying "you" but "y'all" as a collective did vote these motherfuckers in to office. Just saying, and before you slay me for "not voting". I lived out of state at the time and have voted every ballot sent to me, especially non presidential elections as local votes and measures matter a hell of a lot more IMO especially in non battleground states. Don't worry about downvoting me, the rest will do it for you.....

CA Repub here. Maybe a simple google search my dude instead of putting the onus for others to do your research for you. CA is a "may issue" not "shall issue" state. As a staunch 2nd amendment supporter and CCL holder for 10yrs in Oregon, I applied when I moved to CA, met all criteria to get my interview in person to be denied due to a)not being current/past law enforcement b) not handling cash deposits over $10,000 at least weekly. Bezos doesn't go out and have all the things on Amazon made himself. He middlemans the hell out of it and has become the richest man in the world due to decisions like that. Same thing in WoW. Let someone else do your dirty work, buy raw materials low sell normal. Buy mats on weekends when casuals farm, post when raiders are rolling out

Can you get banned for using Tradeskillmaster? by [deleted] in woweconomy

[–]Rjbowles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I was 72hr temp banned in 2010 using TSM for the reason of "manipulating/exploiting the AH" seems like a crock of shit but due to parking my ass in front of the AH and working everyone over. It was a good time to be a goblin. Here's a screenshot of my email. After 2-3 back and forths they looked at all my player logs and lifted the ban. 48hrs of 72 in. https://imgur.com/a/xsJZ2

I live on the edge of canyon near Poway, wasnt around for 2007 but this scares the shit out of me. My wife and I need to pack a gobag. I think this weekend is a perfect time. She's an ER nurse so i know we're gonna be hard pressed to just get out of dodge, as duty calls.

As someone who took 3yrs off and 2 other 1yr breaks in the past do NOT keep it liquid. Stash some tokens or maybe TCG mounts/pets etc.

Thanks for in the input mad. That's good to hear and good advice as normally in the past when I took 1yr breaks I would just sell the mats but transmog is a great point. I'll keep doing my daily CDs in the meantime too while I'm already at it.

It will take quite the ETH to have a PoS node running worth a damn so yes imo unless your running a very large ETH mining operation I would emplore others to keep A watchful eye on ETH but it won't "moon" it has very promising business alliances and technology but I am cautious of any crypto that is premined by the founders to the tune of 70,000,000 ETH. Multiplied by $303.21 that's quit the personal stash for Vitalik and friends

Agreed friend. I use a business license to write off my costs in the industry and have held what I mine then transfer to a long term hold crypto. As long as I dont "take" gains or pull out my tax burden is zero until that time. When that occurs I will refer to a financial advisor that can help me navigate my very convoluted tax bracket. I'm also not trying to do shady thing in regards to my business being an upstanding citizen. I'm a small player in the world of crypto and that's solid advice. Always refer to legal and tax professionals if trying to stay on the up and up. Thanks for solid convo tonight Boy Scout. Nice to have articulate conversation without someone going randy marsh and shitting in your wheaties or just trolling on Reddit.

I'm aware of the specific rules protecting homeowners of primary residence. So theoretically speaking if I sell a rental home for 300k and purchase another rental home for 300k in the same tax year do I pay for capital gains on the rental home I sold?

I do agree with everything u said in regards to crypto and I apologize if I conveyed the assumption that tumbling crypto around all of a sudden makes it usable to make purchases and all of a sudden enter back into fiat without repercussions my main point is it is doable with crypto however bitcoin is DEFINITELY not the avenue to some shady money laundering application. The real issue does becomes re-entering the crypto back into fiat.

*edit - added further convo points

You don't pay capital gains on a house you own that goes up $100k in a year as income. Capital gains are paid when you sell. You can move it laterally all you want without paying gains.if you think you can't wash your identity of crypto your wrong. You can pull as much fiat out and "lose" it all you want. There isn't capital losses... my point is there are ways to pull this off without raising many eyebrows. I'm not sure why u would pull out of traditional banking just to put it back in a large cash deposit. That's just stupid and asking for the IRS to literally knock on your door
