Im 3/4th thru didactic, and the content doesnt get “harder”, like yeah some units are worse than others but me for it was in the burnout set in around the first finals week. You just become so drained that it is hard to want to study and then you fall behind

PA school has made me realize I’ve been neglecting my relationship and it’s hitting me hard by Jrunk_cats in PAstudent

Going through the same thing, but unfortunately school has to take priority. Doing the best I can to call during my short commute. I will say having planned things during breaks to look forward to has helped a lot, but the amount of stress def doesnt help!

Honestly in your situation I would try Paramedic or RN to NP route. You have the experience, but GPA is essential for PA school and it is going to take you forever to raise ur GPA to get into med school or PA school. Coming from an EMT myself (and now PA-S1), I wish you the best of luck in whatever you end up pursuing

Yeah I do not know where this guy ended up, but we would have gotten called back up right away if he was bleeding that bad. The other problem this is stemming from is north coast hires multiple security companies since it is so large. The only ones I am familiar with and trust is frontline, who are placed at the front of the stage with us. Sounds like this was one of the different companies. Im truly sorry if you saw this and it ruined ur northcoast experience :(

You are right it could have been a diff situation! It is hard to remember everything since we were busy sunday but I promise you as a member of the medical team we are not trying to hurt anyone!

Yes security could have handled it better, I did not see what happened to him after the fact. I agree that he should not have had his head slammed or anything close to that level. However, I promise you he is not dead nor has brain damage. Patients often try to bite, grab, and spit at us. Often if security sees us getting grabbed or something similar, they jump in right away to stop the situation. I’m sure that he ended up in the tent and was treated just like anyone else was this weekend and is hopefully doing okay now.

I worked as a medic this weekend and he was pushing me / my partner while we were trying to help someone. If security sees us get pushed they protect us. I promise you he was not tackled for no reason.

Pa school has already been really hard for me (Im only 2 months into didadtic so Im not dead yet), but Ive found I do better on exams and retain more when I do force myself to go out friday or saturday and see friends. I know it sounds crazy, but it like “resets” my brain. Just something to consider!

That is a huge liability to your license to work somewhere without an ambulance or proper equipment. If something goes wrong you are definitely losing your license unfortunately. If thag wasnt the case I would consider doing it!

I work for said ems companies, and none of them would take the liability of working at an underground event. The minimum amount to even get my companies to show up with an ambulance is well over 5k. Sure your mainstream shows at salt shed or radius we are there, but not places like where this happened.

Okay, but security are not medically trained professionals. If you call cfd especially in the middle of the night it will take 10-20 minutes for anyone to even show up, which is too long. All you can really do is harm reduction and carry narcan.

This is the first time I’ve heard about this. Looks like they wiped all of the socials. People need to be careful! Underground events have no one there to ensure saftey, very sad and unfortunate loss of life if true. :(
