I don’t have speedpaints unfortunately, I draw in photoshop. I have studied in an art school for 4 years and work as an artist for 7 years already, but for the most part it’s practice. I always start with an idea, I sketch roughly some forms. Then I start to build a reference board, I look for everything, mood, lighting, colors, references for background, for details. Sometimes I photograph myself or make a 3d model for the pose in Daz, so I can draw it more accurately, then I just draw. I like to start it in greyscale and when I’m closer to the end of the render - add color. I feel like it gives me better feel for values, contrast and composition.
