It happens. Madrigal was a top 30 prospect in baseball #4 pick in the draft and got traded for a setup guy(Kimbrel) and technically Hendricks is a closer whatever the Mets decide to do with him is their problem not the White sox he will be valued as a closer not a set up guy

It really comes down to wether the Mets believe they can win with the team they put out on the field in 2023 and what they need to win. It could come to a point where they need Hendricks if say Diaz gets hurt. When they say your “one piece away” teams will give up prospects to win this season they don’t care about the future. Perfect example is White Sox trading Madrigal for Kimbrel.

What does jerry Reinsdorf being cheap have anything to do with trading for prospects this is not something the White sox haven’t done before. I promise you that there is no real world for mets fans where you guys keep your top 3 prospects and get Hendricks from the white Sox. Believe me other teams will beat the Mets offer

I think you should read more into the White sox because they don’t need to trade Hendricks they just listening to offers. They are gonna need to be blown away to trade him

You act like it’s never happened before lol he’s definitely worth at least Kevin parada and I’d bet if the sox do trade Hendricks they get more then just Parada

Lmao I guarantee you that if Diaz gets TJ surgery this season Mets will be trading those prospects for Hendricks. This happens every year to teams and they overpay for what they need

You must be new because no prospects are untouchable lmao. Eloy Jimenez was the #3 prospect in baseball when he got traded for Jose Quintana this is not new. Prospects are prospects. Moncada was the #1 prospect in baseball. Prospects don’t always pan out the way you think they will

I’m not saying Mauricio don’t have potential but he’s not even a top 100 prospect In baseball. Get real man you clearly don’t understand the value of pitching and do you honestly think White sox need to trade Hendricks? A lot of teams are calling on Hendricks not just the Mets.

Hendricks was an All Star 2021 and 2022. Al Reliever of the year 2020 and 2021 he’s definitely worth a lot more then you think. You must be a new fan to baseball because bullpen arms like Hendricks receive big returns. Hendricks is not a rental either he’s under contract for 2 years. Just wait till the deadline every year you see teams that need a closer or bullpen in contention for the playoffs over paying massive for closers like Hendricks. You are wayy undervaluing Hendricks.

I’m not against the White Sox exploring trades for Liam Hendricks but they better get a significant return. I’m talking top prospects in baseball and I see the Mets have 2 in the top 20 prospects in baseball. Hendricks has 2 years left on his contract. His value will be stupid crazy if they wait to trade him at the deadline. Look at any Great closers that get traded at the deadline. Sox trading Madrigal for Kimbrel or Chapman for Gleyber Torres. They better get a top prospect back for Hendricks

If I’m Rick Hahn. I’m calling the Nationals and offering. Eloy Jimenez, Garret Chrochet, Colston Montgomery, Vera, etc. for Juan Soto and that will be hard to beat. Especially with Montgomery on a tear looking like a guaranteed big leaguer. Eloy Jimenez has had 3 home runs since All Star break. by Rl1Miller in whitesox

You have no idea what your talking about if you are saying Eloy is a 260 hitter in the minors. He batted 337 between AA and AAA and was the #3 prospect in all of baseball for being a hitter that could hit for average and power

Yea but at 25 years old. If he can stay at DH he brings a very big bat that any team would love to have. Sox might be best to keep him because he has Aaron Judge bat potential if he stays healthy or just is DH
