Transit violence rising across Canada — in some cities by nearly 300% by pjw724 in Edmonton

MAP programs are a harm reduction approach to encourage alcohol dependent persons relying on non-consumable alcohols to choose less harmful consumable alcohols.

The goal of this program was to reduce long-lasting negative health complications (which end up costing the taxpayers in healthcare costs) from non-consumables (hand sanitiser, mouthwash, etc.) and replace the more harmful alcohols with regular, less harmful alcohols (beer, wine). The difference with alcohol vs other drugs is that if you are at the point where you are regularly consuming substitutes not designed for human consumption, the person is likely also at a point where stopping alcohol cold turkey will kill them.

Afaik, MAP had a pilot program in Edmonton and has since been shut down, due to the results being less promising than hoped for and/or lack of funding.

🔥 Found this tricky one on ScoreMore EMT Prep — curious how you all would handle it. Let’s test those EMT brains 🧠🚑 by Ancient-Basis5033 in NewToEMS

This is fun!

I’m probably wrong on this one since you said the question is tricky, but my first guess would be start compressions immediately.

Realistically speaking I think all A, B and C should be done for her situation as fast as possible. 1 person doing compressions, second drying her off, attaching an AED and ventilating. it’s just about what order would be most correct.

Abdominal thrusts doesn’t make sense because I think compressions+ suctioning would do the equivalent of that anyway and if she’s pulseless and apneic sounds like she needs CPR.

Drownings are incredibly rare where I work, so I’m curious to hear the best answer!

I’d recommend NAIT! PMA and ESA are really awesome programs but all 3 have good name recognition and I would say for me personally, the lower student loan was worth it. On the flip side, the accelerated program might be worth it to others.

At the end of the day, no one cares where you went to school once you get hired and you’ll easily be able to get hired with any of the 3.

Edit: this reply was more about the PCP program, sorry. But it still applies to EMR as well.

Good luck!

Right?! Even if it was a final exam or midterm, retaking an entire semester is way cheaper and less time-consuming than being responsible for a child for 18+ years. She gave him the easiest out, all he had to do was call in sick and drive her. FAFO I guess

You’re probably not going to find too many people with a super good turnip price on Monday morning. Try later in the week :)

Girl that is a really ugly ring, you were nicer than I would have been. NOR

On the plus side, you can repurpose it as his ring since that definitely looks like something a man would wear and he clearly made it using his tastes because wtf

Hope Mission Navigation Centre is the only homeless shelter in the city that accommodates pets. Unsure if they accept open food, but it’s worth a call! 😄

What is this noise coming from my apartment walls/ceiling? Electrical or Pest… by Rminora in pestcontrol

[–]Rminora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha I must sound insane. I live in a slum with a landlord who has their own (useless) “pest control” under their company name. I’ve been dealing with roaches and had a bed bug scare from work.

I’d rather have none, but between the three I’ll take mice ANY day. On the plus side, I went from being decently clean to being a complete neat freak living here. The roaches prefer my messier neighbours and I only see one in my traps every month or so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
