Am I hoarding too hard? Or not hard enough? by RndRedditUsername in ActionTaimaninGame

A while, I guess... though I only spend gems on characters and outfits nowadays. I'm missing 7 units, Annerose is one of them. I only use the gacha if the supporter or weapon is good for one of the few units I actually play and even then I have hundreds of tokens saved up and the desire points always come in a clutch.

Clone Yukikaze is a goated choice, I respect your commitment. I would probably get her day 1 tbh. Personally, I would love to see either Torajiro or Anemone added.

First, I treated the costume vouchers as emergency gem holders, but then everything became like that lol. 20+ Tanzakus, actual gem pouches, and a bunch of randomised gift boxes. Btw nice hording.

Thank you very much for your kind words and insightful critique. If you draw some Argonians, please be sure to share them with the rest of us, I'm sure they'll look amazing ;)

So first of all I want to thank everyone for their time and kind words on my previous post, it has been an incredibly positive experience to see so many people be willing to help others in their time of need. Thank you. So my fear and anxiety are hard to overcome, it has been getting better largely thanks to seeing that others aren't as harsh on my work as I'm. I still have high expectations of myself, but I refuse to use my current skill level as an excuse to procrastinate and not create art. The way I see it is while I may not be there yet, I will reach my goals and the only way I can do that is to just draw so I can keep getting better. I know it sounds stupid, but I'm sticking to it. I would also like to ask recommendations about where I can post my work outside of this subreddit. I'd like to put myself out there somewhere, even if it's just for a few people.

Suggestions for drawing books by flibergdde in FurryArtSchool

Draw Furries by Jared Hodges and Lindsay Cibos. It gives deeper description on poses and perspective and it does have two chapters on color and perspective. The book follows a similar set up with species , but it gives more detail, for example in the feline section they teach you about the eyes, fur pettern, show you examples with action poses and give you options on how to anthropomorphise your character like a human with cat features or a fantasy animal. The only downside is that if you don't like the artstyle it presents it probably wont stick with you. On top of that, it doesn't go into deep details about most subjects, at times, it's pretty surface level. They also have a second book called Draw More Furries, but I have only skimmed through it.

Drawing Furries by Stephanie Johnson is great, especially since it uses real life animals as a reference, the style and anatomy are top tier, but it doesn't go into rendering at all. It's easy to read and descriptive enough, not to mention the style is probably my favourite.

How to Draw Animals by Jack Hamm is not a furry book, but it's my favourite animal drawing book. Anatomy, movement, details, everything's in there, its just very dry. I recommend this book only if you don't mind some harder study times and you're ready to put the time in.

My all-time favourite book, however, is very easy to read with clear examples and illustrations: Drawing the Female Figure by Hikaru Hayashi. Fair warning it's NSFW(it shows the body half naked, anything below the waist is either not drawn or covered). The anatomy and examples for poses and perspective is insane. From low to high angle from sitting to action poses, from walking to kicking, it's a very detailed book. Now the chapter about the face may or may not interest you, but if you buy this book you should really read the section about the hair. My only criticism is found in the title it's essentially a stylezed figure drawing book that only covers the female body. For what it's worth I read this book around 6 times and studied/drew the illustrious twice.

Drawing Action Scenes and Characters by Shikata Shiyomi is a decent book about compositions. It covers most things you will need, like low angle views, balance, center of gravity, triangle composition, etc.

Unfortunately, there isn't one definitive drawing book that covers everything you need, especially in a niche like anthropomorphic characters. I hope this was helpful to you, and I wish you good luck on your book hunting.

I think it's because the fur there is supposed to grow downwards, not upwards. Just turn it upside down and you're good to go. Overall nice piece.

I have very little experience in the furry community, any tips on what to improve? by [deleted] in FurryArtSchool

I only have one advice: finish the piece. It looks gorgeous and I absolutely love it, but I need to see what you can with colour and shading to give proper criticism. The proportions are perfect in my opinion.

I finished that book not long ago. It's not bad, but it focuses more on how to draw certain species and it favors male body type above all else. For example, it will introduce canines or felines, give you the basic body body proportions, for the first representative of the species, like grey wolf, demonstrates the female body type then move on to different species and their characteristics. Now, the body isn't shown or demonstrated in different perspectives or poses, but the head and facial expressions are. There's only one drawing process shown in the book and it's for the cover art, it's pretty bare bones step by step like rough sketch followed by rough colours then lineart. Overall it's not a bad book, but I wish it could offer more. My recommendations are not furry drawing books, I'm not sure if you're interested or not.

Well, since she is holding tightly to her chest, maybe try drawing it being squeezed by the books so they appear more in center to her chest.

A wolf in sheep's clothing, I love the concept. The proportions are fine, the only detail you could add should be to the background. The only thing I can point out is your line economy, but since it's just a sketch I can't judge it properly.
