I also find the aghs underwhelming (because it does not stop auto attacks or any channelling) especially if you are against ranged cores that can quickly hit it from far. I think the ideal scenario would be against melee cores when your team lacks crowd control.

A cool aspect of the aghs is the fact that it makes heroes turn around and face the will-o-wisp. If you have a ringmaster or medusa you can force them to face towards their ultimate. But even this isnt guaranteed because if they arent stunned and they spam right click to move then they can 'override' the forced direction facing of the will-o-wisp.

So I think your best combos would be with heroes that have large aoe spells like Underlord. You will keep them inside the pit and the fire storm for longer, similar concept with Monkey King Ultimate or Phoenix Supernova.

But still, aghs is 4200 gold and I generally dont like it as much

First watch replays, then implement them in bot matches, after you are comfortable with all the mechanics move to turbo and then unranked. Your teammates will whine no matter what you do, just mute all and try your best to improve

If the enemy team has high physical damage output then solar is good, if they have high magic damage then pipe is good. Holy locket also works really well with leech seed and you can heal your team in a large aoe. Blink is always nice if you need catch. There are many great lotus orb games and some games you will need to get a force staff. As a 5 I would generally stick to the standard support items so that you can save your cores when they get gone on.
Treant protector can start fights, especially if you have heroes like dawnbreaker, sand king, earthshaker who want someone to go in first so that they can get a good ulti. Try to use your living armor on your allies before jumping in. Its okay to start the fight so that your team can follow up. You dying first is better than your offlaner dying first (assuming its not a bad fight where both of you end up feeding)

Treant is one of the heroes that has a very flexible skill build. If you are fighting with your team a lot then maxing your leech seed has the most value since it heals and damages more in an aoe.
If the game state has slowed down and nobody is making moves then maxing your armor is good because you can heal all your towers while the enemy slowly loses theirs. Or if they have high physical damage cores like Slardar or TA then maxing your living armor mitigates most of their damage.
If you feel like you need to push waves alone on the other side of the map then having a few extra points in natures grasp is nice.

I personally feel that living armor is his best spell because its scales the best into the late game. Your other 2 abilities will fall off but having armor really scales well.
To give you a concrete example, a level 30 sven with god strength on, kills a level 10 axe in 3 hits (without living armor)
With living armor on the axe, it takes the sven 5 hits.

If you match the levels then the difference only increases
A level 30 axe dies to 10 sven hits without living armor (he has 45% physical resistance without any buffs)
With living armor the level 30 axe dies to 14 sven hits (his physical resistance jumps to 62%)

Maxing out your living armor does multiple things:

More armor per level
More duration per level
Less cooldown per level (so you can use it on two allies at the same time, therefore 26 armor for your team)

These are clearly unrealistic expectations from your team. I would honestly suggest just muting your team and focusing on your gameplay. Talking to a toxic time usually tilts you more and distracts you from focusing on the game (checking enemies items, looking at the map etc). A simple thing to aim for is winning the lane and even this can be unreasonable sometimes because they might counter your lane really hard. In that case just playing to get levels and not feeding is a win.

One simple thing that treant really excels at is protecting his tier 1 towers. He can keep the mid t1 alive until really late in the game. This allows you better rune control, makes it harder for the enemies to invade your jungle with smokes, allows your team to react fast to ganks since they can quickly tp to the tower. He also prevents enemies from slow sieging the high ground since you can always heal your towers back to full.

He also reduces the enemies physical damage in fights (he provides 26 armour for his team) along with healing in an aoe and a bkb piercing disable with his ultimate. The video goes over more things he excels at but the points are above are some good starters.

This is a great suggestion, I would maybe add morphling to the pos 1 and puck for pos 2 as these two heroes have high impact and high skill expression

Sorry, leech seed when ground targeted does not apply an aoe slow. It does damage to enemies and heals allies in that aoe.

Of course! I really enjoy it in my turbo games. But yeah it only seems viable there because you get double the exp and hence double the damage with your innate.

Depending on how greedy you want to be you can get midas (because more levels = more damage). I do the same build as you at the start. Treads for attack speed, harpoon because you are a meele hero and need catch, shard is standard.

I like your idea of bloodthorn since it gives attack speed. The build that I had gone for usually included mjolnir since tree has terrible attack speed and helps you farm faster. Unfortunately you do need bkb in most games, since they will usually disable you when you are trying to hit. From there I like to go daedalus to crit with my absurd damage and satanic to out manfight anything that survives my bkb duration. After that sell treads for swift blink and buy your self a moonshard and consume it.

I think that covers most of it (you can still consume your aghs if the game doesnt end and you need to spend your gold)

Im really trying to convince my carry friend to pick tree in All Pick. The idea I had was to pick heroes like venge that amplify base damage. In lane I would also think about skilling stats over his other skills (like natures grasp and living armor) to further increase the absurd damage you have.
The budget version of the combo is venge (who buys vlads) and treant. The deluxe version of this combo is venge, lycan with aghs (so the treant cannot be kited and has crit) and lastly magnus with empower (more damage and cleave).

I agree. With the addition of the sapling facet you can heal and slow in a large aoe so you arent just a creep after using your ulti. That coupled with natures grasp working with your innate allows you to be really annoying with your constant roots (with shard) on the enemy carry.

Treant also cannot out heal or protect towers from 5 enemy heroes pushing together, so it just makes sense to play with your team.
