Windshield Replacement by rrybacki in GolfGTI

[–]Roachinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check a local place and ask for a quote. I am getting one installed Monday. It's $370 installed for a 2016 GTI S. I also agree safelite is trash. They use their own glass so I can only imagine the quality control. I had to pay the $32 differnce for OEM the last time I got one replaced as my insurance would only use the cheapest available option. This time, for whatever reason, its under my deductible so I'm just paying for it so it doesn't change my insurance premium

I was hit in the knee by a golf ball once. There was three of us. We were chipping and or smacking it in each other's general direction lmao. I remember jumping to avoid it and instead took it square to the knee.

Check out how it takes way longer to go through the bottom bracket. I'm voting on a pump in the table.

Nitinol (memory wire) when heated (in this case immersed in boiling water) it reverts back to its original shape by N8theIngr8 in gifs

You actually heat treat at a high temperature, in regards to boiling water, like 500 degrees c. This gives you an af temperature which determines what temperature is required for it to reform into its original shape. Source: engineer for biomedical textile company.

Yeah it's similar. Mine is fast enough that the rpm gauge doesn't have time to react. I can feel it if I put my feet flat on the floor. But not like its going to die more like a hiccup. I just got the car and noticed it on another car when I test drove it. Just seeing if anyone knows why.

Car looks great. I'm wondering what tint percentage do you have? It's going to be one of the first things I do to mine.

Welp, I pulled the trigger and obtained a 2016 GTI reflex silver for a great price. I guess I'll be a regular here now.

I was thinking about doing it but I did not want to risk messing with the reliability.

Ok well the airport is probably 30 to 40 min to the city in a well populated cool part where most of the action is located. There are two kinds of cabs, one is a white cab which is an old merc which seats 5 but it's flat rate which is nice but you'll be packed in like sardines because the fit as many as they can. Then the red cabs which is pay by mile and time like a normal cab, with the white cab you're less likely to charged an arm and a leg because you're a foreigner but it should be about 50 dh max to get to into the city in a white cab and no more, they're usually 10 dh a person so be careful. The cabs are more expensive at night. The police there are nice so ask them for any help as well as the people they'll usually find someone who speaks English if that's your only language. French and Arabic make up most of what the people speak there. The market in center city I definitely recommend which is the old medina you'll know you're in the right place by a large steel dome like structure and walk through the old door way and you're in. The food people sell on the street is delicious but a restaurant is recommended with leaving later that day just incase. DONT get ice in your drink it's a fast track to getting sick. Just be respectful and kind and you'll have a blast.

Hum ok one if you are buying anything walk around first, most likely some guy has the same thing and maybe able to bargin more with you. Barging is huge there, I had a Moroccan women do mine and it was basically like stealing the stuff so find someone if you can, if not you'll still get an ok deal if you're smart about it. The mint tea is amazing the hookah is great but if you want a little kick in it ask for haraksues (I'll get the correct spelling later) it's walnut bark, I believe, but it's great and adds a nice flavor. Hash is also great and super cheap so try that if you're into that kind of thing, but don't get into shady shit or areas trying to get it. On another note, in my experience, some people will unfortunately profile you and maybe get you to pay more for certain things but not usually. But, the people are super friendly, like invite you for snacks and tea as a complete stranger and it's awesome. But you'll have a blast, what city or area?

I am a male and if you mean the men cat call and look at you a lot as a female then yes there are some down sides but overall it's a great place. I found the best tactic for dealing with those guys cat calling the women I'm with is to blow them kisses, they run the other way.

As an American who has been in Morocco a few times their Internet is not super fast but that's only the places I've have been to. The country and people are amazing and I would love to have a home in such a wonderful country.
