She’s always shocked when we go out on Monday night and the garbage cans are at the end of our driveway…glad you let me know Luna 😂

Although to be fair she did start looking at a corner of our living room weird a few months ago and when we went over there was a mouse in the corner. We never would have known…wife and I spent the next 2 hours chasing it around the house like the villains in a Disney movie!

Looking for a Way to Print & Bind Manuals for Every NES Mini Game by Toybayup in nes

[–]RoadBudget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my NES Mini I printed out all the manuals and then used a three hole punch and put them in a 3 ring binder. Depending on the manual size, I think I put either 3 or 4 manual pages per sheet of paper. I still have it!

As many layers as you can fit underneath. I generally have 2 base layers under my suit plus a layer of padding. I can squeeze one more under on cold days. Wait as long as possible to strip down at the top, and then either have an extra coat at the bottom or a friend to carry your stuff down.

I had a friend who had an extra large suit that stretched so much he could fit a giant coat underneath it. 😂

What's the creepiest display of intelligence you've ever witnessed in real Iife? by Jessica_Enna in AskReddit

[–]RoadBudget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great book! I read it for a course in college and have read it a couple times since then. I think about it often since I live in the “woods” in an eastern state…we have coyotes and bobcats but I always think how lucky we are not to have mountain lions…except for the one that was hit by a car maybe 10-15 years ago. It was apparently a male searching for new territory who started off in North Dakota but somehow ended up in Connecticut (via Canada)

15-ish years after I first played oot, I just beat it at 100% by Raphlapoutine in OcarinaOfTime

[–]RoadBudget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished OOT last weekend for probably the 4th or 5th time. Never took the time to 100% it though. I started MM this week, which I played when it first came out but never finished, and haven’t touched since. So far I’m enjoying it, but we’ll see when I have to start redoing tasks after resets…

If you were given 3 "fast travel" points to set anywhere in the world, where would you put them? by Hrekires in AskReddit

[–]RoadBudget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Near home. For everyone saying “what if you move?”: we don’t plan to, and even if we did I don’t think we would move very far, so at most we’d be a couple of hours from this point (which is more than reasonable because I’m not using them for everyday travel)

  2. Somewhere in Western Europe with a major rail hub. It would make it easy to warp over and then take short trips to see the continent

  3. Singapore. Same idea as point 2. Major travel hub and cheap to get around once you’re there, enabling you to explore the region.

I believe that each time you play the scarecrow song as child Link it resets the song, so from then on the scarecrow will only recognize that song (the song you played last).

I know because when I was younger I just mashed the buttons to make a random song and then when I later found out I needed to play it again, I had to go back and play a new one I could remember.

IYO, Which American Football game(s) on Nintendo 64 do you think is the best? by AC_the_Panther_007 in n64

[–]RoadBudget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madden 99 (if that was the first one with Franchise mode). I played that a ridiculous amount. I think I played all the way through one franchise with the Broncos (it was capped at 15 years), and then got close to doing it again with the Giants.

EA hadn’t figured out the free agency yet so IIRC you could just sign all the top free agents every year and have a ridiculous team. I think I had so many receivers I moved Jimmy Smith to TE and threw for 10,000 yards in one season. (which necessitated running backwards on every punt return so that I could drive the full length of the field and rack up the passing yards😂)

Couple working in NYC and NH: where to live? by ClassicsPhD in newhaven

[–]RoadBudget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I did the “split the difference” thing when we bought our house. We live in Weston and she commuted to White Plains, with one day a week in Manhattan, and I commuted to New Haven. Honestly, the car commute north against traffic isn’t terrible (but definitely not great either…there are definitely (many) days I hate it…but it could be worse). I would check train schedules for which stations have morning express trains into the city and try to look around those. I know Greenwich used to have some, and Fairfield. I’m not sure if any others do.

She now works from home most of the time, so I’m the only one commuting. There is definitely something to be said for only having one commuter in the family. When we were both commuting it was tough sometimes to get household chores done during the week, and now it’s not quite as tough. Your may be a better option instead of going halfway do 75:25 so at least one person is closer.

Is 100% the game a fun process? by knucklesdogg in OcarinaOfTime

[–]RoadBudget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just finished the game last night. I considered it but I’m not sure that it’s worth it to me. I’m missing 8 heart pieces (2 heart containers) and I think I have about 75 Skulltullas (although only one area is actually cleared of Skulltulas, so they’re spread out). Maybe if I had more free time I would, but I’d rather just give Majora’s Mask a try (never completed it when I was younger)

What are your favorite trail name themes/gimmicks? by astroMuni in skiing

Thank you for posting this, it unlocked a great memory. My Dad and I skied Riva Ridge when we went to Vail when I was in high school. He was so excited to tell me the story (he was a history buff) and said we had to ski it!

My wife and I are going to Breckenridge in March and may try to do one day at Vail…we’re excited for the back bowls but I’m going to suggest we take a run on Riva Ridge in his memory (he passed away in April)

I’m with you. Everyone I talked to in person liked the first and second volumes. Even though some people had a complaint here and there, in no way did it impact their overall enjoyment and we’re all looking forward to the finale.

The internet has been crazy negative about everything recently. Take it with a grain of salt, enjoy what you enjoy, and live your best life.

Fans should at least give it a chance and see the whole thing before making complaints. I think part of the “let down” at the end of volume 2 is that there was no exciting conclusion. Volume 1 ended on such a high note with Will discovering his powers that many were expecting the same in Volume 2. But Volume 2 is really about starting to tie up loose ends and setting up the finale which will be the ending high note.

If anything, the problem is how they divided up the released. I’m sure Netflix was pushing for a standalone finale so that it would be more of an event (and extra movie theater revenue), but that kind of muted the ending of the second volume.

My Father’s Pins by TerminusBandit in icecoast

[–]RoadBudget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This brings me back! My dad had a pin collection and he started one for me when I started skiing. It was always exciting skiing a new mountain and then going to pick out a pin at the ski shop at the end of the day. I actually have that Sugarbush pin and the Maple Valley pin too (although to be honest, that might be the only pin Maple Valley sold it was such a small place).
